Let's see...the greatest players to have ever stepped on the basketball court praise LeBron's skill, athleticism, iq of the game, his work ethic...but you as a fan who probably never played basketball by the way you're coming across, of course know's much better than those who have played basketball. Makes sense, Lebron is average player. /thread

Skill level doesn't really matter as long as he scoring. Not a beauty contest.

I agree that he's far less exciting to watch than Jordan, but he's just as effective if not more.

Oh my gosh. See what i'm saying?

6/6. About to be 2/5.

He is nowhere near as effective as Jordan, especially when the lights are the brightest. Please go check his finals numbers and compare them to some of the all time greats. I'm not even talking MJ, that is just unfair.

I love when people use this argument. Just because a player was undefeated in the finals he somehow can't be passed by a player that has lost in the finals. What you are basically saying is that players are not penalized for losing before the finals. From my perspective I would much have my team lose in the nba finals rather than the conference finals but somehow when you lose in the finals it stigmatizes you.

I don't care much for the rest of your post but LeBron is already a top 10 player of all-time whether or not you like it. The only players who are unquestionably ahead of him are (in no particular order): MJ, KAJ, Russell, Wilt, Magic, Shaq, Duncan, and Bird.

With another title or two/2 more prime years he will enter top 5.

There is one point with Lebron that fans, people in this forum, and analysts usually agree with: Lebron can take your team to the finals. Not saying every single year or title favorites but you can put scrubs around him and that team will still be a contender. No other player this generation has that kind of talk, so he is a once a generation, transcendent player for his era.

Now it seems your point has another point behind it to help it, that this era is weaker than some past era and Lebron is able to be seen as great because of the era he is in. There is nothing Lebron can do about playing in this era and we won't ever know how lebron will play in any era so that thinking is weak (still a point tho) and just an opinion.

To you he might not be top 10 material, I do find that odd and some hate behind that because by the end of his career he should be at least automatic top 10 material by stats and rings/awards alone. Now to put him ahead of MJ, Magic, Bird.... I can understand if you want them ahead of Lebron for various reasons.

LeBron is an amazing player and talent plus lock for top 10 of all-time. It's his fans (player fans who have followed him from team to team) who make it unbearable to cheer for him.

Note: I'm not referring to true Heat fans who have supported the team before 2010. It's those other LeBron fans who I believe would not be satisfied with a Miami 3-peat unless LeBron is crowned finals MVP.

Jordan and Russell had the same mental makeup

Wilt and Lebron were the two great physical talents of all-time..There's no debate on that one..But the above players will always kick their ass in compeititive situations.

Lebron's numbers are skewed, I agree. Due to the much lower pace his numbers are a lot lower than they should be if you take pace into account. He's better than his numbers say he is.

It's amazing how people bring up losing in the finals as though it's better to lose in the 2nd round or ECF than get to the finals, I can't even understand the mental gymnastics that bring about the conclusion that getting farther in the playoffs is bad for someone's career.

disenfranchised wrote:Yes, Bron is a physical specimen the game has never seen before. The combination of speed, strength, and agility is absolutely jaw dropping at times. However, I don't see all the other tools needed to be a top 10 all time player. The skill level, IMO, is extremely lacking. The NBA has basically made guarding perimeter players nearly impossible, especially Bron. Bron is literally allowed to run through defenders and somehow get the foul call to go his way. The only reason he shoots a good percentage from 3 these days is because defenders literally give him 5 feet of wide open space due to the rule changes. His post game has been a weakness since he entered the league, simply because he's literally an athlete playing basketball and doesn't possess a ton of basketball skill, but I will admit he has improved in that area.

The numbers with Bron are greatly skewed because he protects his percentages. He literally will stop shooting if he thinks it will hurt his percentages. I have seen him countless times literally run from the ball when the quarter is about to end or the shot clock is winding down. Even when the clock isn't running down, he will defer to the point of hurting his team because he is so afraid to see his percentages drop. He pads his stats against weaker opponents and plays heavy minutes in games that are already decided. The sad thing is, the masses don't see it and they claim he is a GOAT candidate because all they see are the numbers. The numbers are lies, especially in Bron's case. Alpha players are in the flow of the game and they keep shooting, regardless of how bad it may make them look.

IMO, Bron can never enter my top 10. The 2011 finals sealed the deal for me. He has ran from the moment too many times in his career to be considered an alpha male. He colluded to chase titles in his prime. The precedent he set with the collusion completely and utterly tarnished his legacy. You don't form a super team in your prime if you want to be a GOAT. He had help, but people diminish his help to serve their agenda. Players like Danny Green and Shannon Brown were meaningless in Cleveland, yet they somehow helped LA win back to back titles and helped SA make two straight finals. (Green could've won FMVP last year) Bron once again, last year in game 6, almost blew a finals series in the last minutes. It took a Ray Allen 3 to save what was left of his legacy. Miami is the most stacked team in NBA
history, relative to each era and the talent level of each era, IMO.

He is not what he is portrayed and is not top 10 material, IMO.

Is this real life? The Bulls organization gets the Lebron hype when they were begging him to go there in 2010.

Lebron haters are worse then bandwagon Heat fans.

You can't be rational with irrational people. According to these morons.. Losing to a seasoned, stacked Pistons team in the ECFs In 2007 at 21 was better then losing to a season'd stacked Spurs team in the finals.

I'll never forget game 5 in Detroit. I wasn't a Lebron fan and had no skin in the game. What he did by himself was absolutely amazing to watch as a basketball fan.

Lebron's never lost in the first round.. Jordan's lost in the first round more then once.. Yet that's never talked about. Jordan was never out of the first round without Pippen

I hate LBJ more than any player ever. I didn't want him on the Bulls in 2010 (although we would have won 70 by now) and I wouldn't sign him for the vet min now. But he is clearly a top 10 player, and I see him destined for top 3. I don't see him catching MJ-his career has some question marks-but anyone who doesn't see him up there with all the greats is blind.

If you don't think he's top 10, who are the people you think belong ahead of him? I personally believe he clinched top 10 after his first title.
