Obviously you say this, you want him in Chicago. The reality is that Lin hasn't played up to his contract, so why would he expect his employer to be happy with him?

Kind of a pathetic move by Houston.
Even if melo is better c'mon

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Because he's still a Houston Rocket... It's not like he quit on the team or anything. I don't blame him for being upset because that's very disrespectful. Like above poster said it's one thing to accept that you may be moved, it's another for your team to do something like this.

I don't understand how people could possibly interpret that quote as offensive in any way at all.

Lin is under an incredible amount of pressure from his fanbase to not appear as though he is "accepting" disrespect. He walks an incredibly fine line. He's trying to be loyal to the organization, loyal to his beliefs (religion), loyal to his fanbase, and loyal to himself.

I don't envy him in that regard. He has a huge amount of pressure put on him.

DoubleLintendre wrote:For real though, anybody think the situation with how Lin is constantly treated is related to passive racism by the team and the media? Is a coincidence that Lin continually finds himself getting the shaft by his teammates, the media and possibly by the coach even though he's a fairly decent NBA player?

As an Asian American guy I have trouble picturing this happening to say.. a European international player. And Lin is really an American too. It sucks that he seems to always be the universe's permanent whipping boy. He seems to be turning that cheek all the damn time.

There is no racism here. Just complete disregard for Lin. But Lin is getting $14million this year anyway and he was fringe NBA player a few years ago. And I am sure he'll sign another decent contract. Life is good for him.

Some of you guys are so shallow. This has nothing to do with his salary or his play, it's the blatant disrespect from an employer to an employee

Lin never really got a fair shot to begin with and now he is sitting behind Beverley in the rotation. Hardly his fault.

So you're telling me if Lin was putting up good numbers, and playing well that Houston would have handled this the same? Come on man.

this is normal since Morey's era
first Aaron Brooks took Rafer Alston starting spot
then Kyle Lowry took Aaron Brooks starting spot
then Goran Dragic took Kyle Lowry starting spot
then Jeremy Lin (was once 3rd string PG in Rockets) took Goran Dragic starting spot
then Patrick Beverly took Jeremy Lin starting spot
will Isiah Canaan or Nick Johnson start at PG over Patrick Beverley?

Rockets culture seems like a toxic environment especially considering the prior NYC drama

He is so annoying. He isn't a scrub but not an all star player either. Carmelo is a perennial all star. He needs to stop thinking everyone is against him I think Melo is overrated but he's 10x the player Lin will ever be.

That is so true.

Most chinese (and asian people for that matter), you never hear them b*tching and complaining about it all the time. That's what makes it even sadder IMO. They just put up with life and make the best with what they have and move on.

BTW I would absolutely LOVE to have Lin on the Hornets! Perfect attitude and demeanor. Great for the team in more ways than on the court.

It has nothing to do with how good or bad anyone is or any other scenario. Putting another player from another franchise in your jersey while you are still on that team is straight up disrespectful & makes the Houston franchise look like a bunch of a-holes.

Well it's nothing he can do because for one the rocket players could care less about him, 2 no team is paying 15 million for him unless Houston sends a 1st and why would they send one for an expiring 3 Houston could care less about any player that isn't a star or superstar feelings.

Showing respect is a wholly different thing than being happy with someone.
