It's so tedious and silly reading comments like these all offseason. I'm sure I could go find a few guys he's better than that already make the max. It goes both ways. There's always someone better who makes less, and there are always guys who make more who are worse. Unless you're talking about Lebron because there just isn't anyone better. Nobody is exactly making groundbreaking assessments with simplistic comparisons like this.

It's even worse when it's obvious Tony Parker is worth more than he makes, and he knew that when he took it. So a guy who took less than market value on purpose ... sure ... that's EXACTLY who we should compare all contracts to. :banghead:

Bledsoe's talent is worth more than 12 million a year but injury is the fear. What about a 2 year deal worth around 26 million?

I am usually pro-labor and anti-management when it comes to the NBA but Bledsoe is in the wrong here. He's not a max level player, he could be by the time he's ready for his next contract. 4/48 is a very fair offer for Bledsoe. He has a chance to play himself INTO a max contract. Instead of whining about wanting a max when he's clearly not worth it why doesn't he ask for a shorter contract or a player option for the 4th year?

Question to those more in the wise than me. Can teams make their team option occur at any point in a contract or does it have to be the final year?

he COULD do that but if he gets injured again, he would wish he took the 48.

That's his choice. Don't see why Phoenix should be strong-armed into giving him a contract he hasn't earned.

Considering the injuries I would of expected something like Steph Curry's deal.

If he doesn't like 48/4, McDonuts will show him that 40/4 is even worse
.
He loses leverage each day. Please, Bledsoe, take the QO and GTFO if you really want to. Risk your next 5 years.
.
Oh, worried about injury or low playing time? Then I guess you'll have to accept whatever we offer you. 48/4 is even too much for him right now. No other offers, no max offer, he won't take the QO no matter what...I guess that means taking whatever we offer

Dude could just play out thh year in full Bynum mode and destroy the locker room until they trade him or pay him. Chances are though this is all for naught and they will just compromise at 4y~55. Its amazing how easily a player and a team forgets about all the bad blood the second they sign that contract.

It's Rich Paul and the big market media which have continually shafted the Suns since last year. Media has continually perpetuated this idea that Bledsoe should be on the Lakers/Heat/any other team except the Suns.

it is easy math.
3.7 QO vs 4/48
12 Mill - 3.7 means 8.3 more total in the next years after the QO to break even. That means roughly 2 Million more per year. 4x14 million in one year after no one is offering this much this season is quite hard to achieve.
If he thinks he can get more than 14 million next offseason, go roll the dice.

That worked out so well for Bynum. Once you prove that you are a injury prone and a locker room cancer good luck with your playing career elsewhere. Bledsoe needs to put his money where his mouth is and take the QO. Otherwise he is just whining.

The truth is, even though Bledsoe isn't worth the max, that's not what's in his way. Even guys who aren't worth it get paid. He hasn't proven that he can stay on the court and for that reason he won't get paid what he wants.

yep. Didnt Houston say they would match anything to Parsons? didnt stop Dallas from offering. Utah said they would match and Hayward got an offer. People are scared of the fact that he hasnt played a healthy season yet as a starter

Every 1st rounder that comes into the league goes through RFA and Bledsoe is making it sound like he's been singled out.

I buy it. We're witnessing the same thing in Detroit with Monroe. Agent telling his client that he's worth an unrealistic amount (MAX!?), when the market doesn't bear it, and the team doesn't have a particular need for your services.
Sounds like both teams (Detroit and Phoenix) have made reasonable offers. Probably a bit more on the favorable side of the team, but what are they supposed to do? Over bid themselves?
Life isn't always fair. Take the team offer or sign the QO an begone.

Speak for your self SVG wants Monroe back, and we need him back or we're stuck with Smudge forever.

Yeah, for a price, obviously. 12 mil/per on the table. We'll see how bad SVG wants him... Monroe talking shady, doesn't quite fit well w/ Drummond. You think SVG gonna go much higher? Maybe 14 max, but only cause it may be tradable if a S&T doesn't materialize sooner.

I'd tell Bledsoe to kick rocks and take his brittle self to the highest bidder.

Dude has proven nothing and is trying to cash in because he knows he can't handle the rigors of a full season.

He would have a point if PHX had low balled him but they didn't. Is he a better player than Curry, Lowry, or Lawson? All of those guys are right around 12 per which is the offer.

So knowing his injury history, limited starting experience and that you are going to have to pay over 12 mill, and probably substantially above it so that PHX won't match... No wonder that teams aren't lining up.

He can take charge of this with the QO and do what he wants next year... As mentioned above its a better deal if he can get 14 per next season. The question whether he takes he risk or not.
