Well they did finish the year 18-7, and really only improved the roster and coaching. Anthony is really not one of the worst defenders in the league, thats a pretty common mistake though. Also, the starting front court opening night is likely to be: PG - Calderon, SG - Shumpert, SF - Anthony, PF - Ja.Smith, C- Dalembert. Shump, Smith, and Dalembert are all considered plus defenders, and Anthony doesnt hurt us there either. I haven't really seen much of Calderon but I've read that hes a bad defender... we'll see. A bench of Prigs (Larkin), JR, Hardaway, Acy, and Amare is really not that bad, especially considering Acy has actually been playing pretty well for us in preseason.

First off, CONGRATS TO Jasen777. He crushed it. (I'm guessing on the 'he' part, please correct.)

Keys to Jasen777's victory included:
well there was really one key... he predicted the Minny tank as well or better than everyone else. And he had a solid performance across the board outside of that.

My method of predicting did fairly well - tied for 8th out of 34. But if I had simply not tried to make any adjustments to the RPM values at all, it would have come in 2nd. (That's what row 37 in the table above is about.) It's only one data point but this makes me think that the basic approach I'm taking has promise.

Later on (not sure exactly when) I'll post a thread on evaluating the individual win predictions I made in the jazzfan/floppymoose threads, and which worked out and which didn't.

Jasen777 let me know what your favorite NBA team is. I can't tell from a quick look at your posting history. I'm up for doing an MLB avatar instead if you prefer, let me know.
