Is this Knicks team worse than the Isiah teams?

They definitely are. The it years were a bunch of knuckleheads that were brought in to win.

These guys were brought in to compete but no one was expecting anything more than a 7-8 seed. The real goal was to preserve capspace for next year while being competitive. Still have capspace. And I'd rather a top 5 pick then falling 1 game shy of the playoffs or a first round sweep anyway.
