Good luck trying to blow by Jordan or Norl or Davis or any other center for that matter.. These bigs are slow compared to the freak athletes playing PG in the NBA but they would kick your ass that's for sure.kaiballz wrote:Volcano wrote:
Why would they need to pass until they get a center on them? There are 5 PG's..so against a traditional team, there will always be a center on one of those PG's.
Guys like RWB/CP3 can beat their men off the dribble regardless of what position they play. I don't see them getting guaranteed buckets every single time. There's something called help defense. They can also zone up or use a box and one against a shooter like Curry.
Smalls can bother bigs sometimes, but more often than not, they're getting a bucket. Look at Hibbert..dude is a trash offensive player, yet dominated Bosh due to size alone. Lebron didn't even deter him much and you think 6 foot PG's are gonna be stopping these dudes? How is a PG going to stop an alley-oop dunk every time down the floor?
Russell can get rebounds because his big men box out, preventing other bigs from rebounding or getting good positioning. Without that, opposing bigs will get position every possession.
thats what i meant. pass the ball until the ball reaches the hands of the pg being marked by the center...
help defence? they are point guards. when the help comes, there's an open man. point guards have the skill to hit the open man easily.
when did i say the smalls can stop the bigs. i said they can bother them enough to make them miss maybe 10-20% of their shots.
you a big? have u ever tried to guard a small before? I haven't seen a big that i cant drive past easily and get a layup every single time. you and your bumbling footwork![]()
and on the neighbourhood courts, i'm not even a true small. i'm over 6 feet which isn't that small on neighbourhood courts. and bigs can't even keep up because of their horrible feet. a true small or elite smalls like those in the list will blow past a 7 footer every single time, whether the 7footer gives up space or not.
Ill take my Center posting up my PG 5 ft from the basket rather than try to have my PG isolate a Center every play.
hey, maybe deandre can guard me. who cares? thats not the question is it? the question is whether deandre can guard westbrook, is it?

I believe in this team.

so a team has all PG's, but they dont think the opposing team would adjust and go small? play a PF or a SF at center? they would add athleticism but still have size advantage.

You can't even put Livingston at center?

Re: How many games would an ALL-PG team win?
Even if you add the biggest PGs in the league, that team would still be destroyed in the paint. In contention with the rest of the league, they wouldnt be able to do anything against guys like Lebron and KD. I do think that they could potentially create a new type of defensive system that could create a lot of havoc. They might be able to double the ball handler on almost every play while still being able to recover. All a big man would need to do is seal off his man and its over
A better question would be, who would win? and All PG team or an all C team. Both have distinct advantages and disadvantages.

All center teams have potential to get better at dribbling the ball. You can have someone like Anthony Davis play PG for 82 games and he will get better at it. The same cannot be said for the PGs as they are limited by height.

Re: How many games would an ALL-PG team win?
more than people think. but the idea of assigning them positions looks a little silly.
rw would NOT be C just because he rebounds well and cp3 wouldn't be assigned PG just because he's the most qualified.
i think they'd play street ball.

They might fluke their way to a couple wins, but it'd be the worst team in NBA history.

Re: How many games would an ALL-PG team win?
Depends on who the 5 PGs are.
If these guys were all in their prime at the same time, this team might win a bunch of games. Johnson, Robertson & Westbrook are/were all good rebounders. Nash & Stockton are/were both very good perimeter shooters. Except for Nash, they are/were all very good defenders. Westbrook, Johnson & Robertson all have/had good size. Etc...
Could play Magic at C (he played C in at least one game in his career when Jabbar was injured), Robertson & Westbrook at F & Stockton & Nash at G.
Magic Johnson
Oscar Robertson
Russell Westbrook
John Stockton
Steve Nash

Re: How many games would an ALL-PG team win?
Scoring would probably be pretty good, but that defense would be brutal.
They would force post players to come out to guard them or get wide open shots, but would get very few offensive boards. Once the bigs started coming out, they could take them off the dribble, lots of cutters, everyone has great handles and good passing, quick feet...hard to guard honestly.
However, on the other end 4s and 5s can get great position every time, and they would shot over their defender with no fear of any help defense with size coming to them. The opponents field goal percentage would be 70% or 80%! That would be tough to overcome with just outside shooting and no second chance opportunities.
So, with all that in mind, probably like 10 games when their shooting is scorching hot and they lots of steals.

How many games could they win in an NBA season?
This particular team, full of multiple AllStars or near Allstars, would probably be the greatest offensive team ever assembled. And probably a bottom 10 defensive team, though Bledsoe/Westbrook/Lowry play larger than their size. All in all, a playoff team in the East.
I'd also cheat and add a few big point guards to the bench: Shaun Livingston, MCW, Kyle Anderson.

yeah.. while handles-quickness-perimeter J would shine that mini team gets beat up inside-too few boards. An ' All Timer' with Magic, kidd, Oscar Robertson.. might do okay. They all could play "big' .
If you could go far with a team that's guys under 6-4... someone would have tried it. Even having 3 small starters hasn't worked in the NBA since WAY long ago.

50 wins. Just adding any decent big would give them another 25 wins. Also I'd get someone like Andre Miller to play PF.

But they only get 2 points for that.
