Jennings straight up for Lawson works under the trade rules. Nuggets can rehab Jennings' value and flip him at the deadline.

I doubt we're interested. Recently could have been a month ago with reporters these days.

No one around the league really needs a PG right now expect for the Rockets. I don't see what the Rockets have to offer to Denver, though. Terrence Jones? Motiejunas? Capela?
If they do somehow acquire him, that's a huge boost for the Rockets. It might even vault them into the championship discussion out in the West with the Spurs, OKC, and Dubs.

Why do that when teams will still give you something?? Wishful thinking doesn't mean it will happen.

The last thing the Lakers need is another ball-dominant guard.

It's just his agent trying to drive up his value. Doubt the Lakers have even an ounce of interest in adding an alcoholic to mentor their 19 year old PG. The just got rid of one in Jordan Hill. Now they have a recovering addict as a project in Upshaw. Please no more addicts. Don't need the baggage.

I get why people are stand-offish with Lawson.. But don't deny his talent. He's one of the better point guard's in this league.

Highly doubtful, the only report that the Nuggets would even consider waiving Lawson was from a tweet from an unknown reporter. They will either trade him or keep him and help him rehabilitate his image.

because the Lakers don't have a back up PG

?

He was 3rd in assists last season. If anything, he defers too much.

But shouldn't the previous DUI have done that?

Or the one before that?

I'd still take a chance on him, if I knew him well or someone in the org knew him well and recommended giving him a chance, and if I thought acquiring him would give him a better chance at straightening his life out. Hard to say from the outside whether he needs time off from basketball, or if he needs a better environment and structure within a basketball team. I have no idea of the particulars of his time in Denver.

He likes to have the ball in his hands. Russell, Clarkson, Lou Will, and Kobe also like to have the ball in their hands, so they already have enough guys like that. Not to mention, they should probably be focused on letting Russell be the PG the majority of the time.

Lawsons value, despite the duis, is greater than Jennings, who might not be on the court for a while, now. Doesnt make sense for the Nuggets to get a player who you hope will play good enough by the trade deadline to create value for a player who already has that value.

He has his flaws, and I can see other reasons why you might not want him, but the assertions you're making about him wanting the ball or being ball dominant are off base. For years we've been wondering when he would finally take that step to be the man, but it never happened. He's unselfish to a fault. And when Karl would run 2 guard lineups (which he did a lot), Ty often played off ball.

But whatever, I'm not trying to sell you on him.

Except it's not. If Lawson had the value you think he does, he wouldn't be on the Nuggets anymore. There's a reason why news stories about potentially releasing him are coming out.

indeed. A dui can be a humbling, embarrassing experience that leads to some soul searching and one can awaken to become a better person.

or you are an a-hole and drive around impaired again, endangering innocent lives again. (but hey, he can still ball and we need a point...
