The last thing we need is a smaller backcourt to go with our small front court. I actually like Murray but not for this franchise.

Our team has Plan a, b and c/d

A. Resign Horford is 1st. Franchise player, our defensive system only works with him and he's a team player. Nothing matters without A.

B. Go all in for Durant. If that fails..

C. Look at the trade market.

D. Free agency market. Not that ample. See if Grant could convince Deng to leave Miami or Green to leave LAC.

Not happening. We're bringing back Horford and we are keeping Teague and Dennis unless an attractive offer is on the table.

Have a nice day.

I don't think this really bothers anyone .... It would simply be a reasonable idea to shuffle some parts on a team that clearly isn't contending is all that's being said

But if locking in on treadmillville by signing Horford to a 30 million dollar a year contract is what that front office wants to do ....hey ...more power to them

They made a mistake by giving Milsap a 20 mill per year deal. That said, they should trade Teague and Splitter to the Rockets for Ariza and Brewer. Rockets need a PG and a center and Hawks get a sf/sg because Bazemore is gone. Then trade Korver to the Clippers for Wesley Johnson. The Hawks put a slow defender , Milsap on Lebron. You need a along athletic guy like Ariza and Wes Johnson. Hawks need to resign Horford and reunite him with his college teammate Brewer.

Hawks Lineup.

Horford
Milsap
Ariza
Brewer
Schroeder
Brewer is not a good defender or player and isn't he signed for like $8 million a year for another 2 years.

You can hide bad defenders. Lakers went to the finals with Radmanovic. Granted, the Celtics whooped them in the finals but Ariza and Bynum were injured. I think Teague and Splitter make 16 mill total just like Ariza and Brewer so salaries match. Brewer and Splitter is a push talent wise but Ariza brings a defensive/offensive sf. Korver is useless just like wes johnson but at least wes johnson can bang with lebron on defense.

The main point is that Brewer is not a good player and will not do anything for the Hawks. He's a mediocre defender at best and a poor offensive player and he has a couple of years left.

Your plan is to make a roster where Brewer is starting, that's awful.

Give me the 411 on Green. I can't lie, I didn't watch Memphis much this year and he didn't stand out with LA to me. What do you think?

29 other teams would be willing to fix that "mistake" and give up assets to make it happen.

I played with this idea. Didn't think it could happen though. Would love to get Lavine as well some how.

You're only going yo ever win if you have a top 3 player or if you're the Detroit Pistons of 04.

I'd try my best to get into a top 5 pick and hope you land a star. That what every team should try and do.

If you don't have Curry, Lebron, Leonard, Davis, Durant, Westbrook, Lillard, or George your team will never sniff the finals

Trade Teague or Dennis for a scoring wing, sign a back up guard and center (or a healthy Tiago).

Easy to say blow it up, but the Cavs are stupid good on this level. No sense in setting fire to the thing.

I don't think the Hawks shake if they can avoid it. They've build a good team and a great locker room. Any shake up by them is likely on the margins (trading Teague for a better fitting win-now asset and turning over the keys to DS.

Personally, I'd like to see them 1) leverage their locker room to invest in riskier players (see Lance Stephenson, JR Smith, etc), 2) invest more internationally to help create a pipeline, mane 3) try to develop a long-term cap plan that lets them swing for the fences in free agency regularly.

Would you give brandon bass 20 mill per year because that is who Milsap plays like. Check out the stats, defensive and offensive ratings.

Well, it's kind of hard to beat a team with Lebron James on it

Winning a title without a top 5 player is basically impossible, and preferably top 2 player really, in reality, at least 25 teams don't have a shot at all for the title every year.

Sometimes, you have to realize those players either fall on to your lap or they don't, trying to play the odds too much and you end up as the Sixers or worse, your team gets moved / contracted.

I'd say the Hawks should just leave well enough alone, nobody's beating the Cavs without getting Steph or Durant on their team (and even if you do get Durant , it's an even bet at best.) would moving Horford somehow increase the odds of that?
