If that team is Boston or Golden State he probably would not be announcing anything until they clear the cap space for him to sign.

I assume we will know soon when the first domino falls and a player his shipped to clear space.

That is the only reason I can see him not announcing soon

I would think if he told OKC he's definitely not returning it would have leaked out by now though so my guess is he's still undecided.

As Heat fan it happened twice to us in that manner. When we Landed Bosh, Wade and Lebron we cleared cap space and then the announcement came. (Good times)

(Now on to the bad times)

When Lebron was undecided on where he was going to go. The Cavs cleared cap space. Once that happened the announcement followed.

So I am assuming if he is not announcing anytime soon I would lean toward Boston and Golden State. Then if you hear a player being shipped to clear space then it would be a great sign.

the NBA could have easily prevented this IMHO By someone having half a brain and making GS make a decision on Fesus and Branes by offering contract sheets. by them NOT offering either up until now the warriors still have cap space. no way they let both of them go without a commitment from KD righ tnow.

the league deserves this for their stupidity

Hope it's Boston but I doubt it. I just hope it's not the warriors because they will pretty much ruin the NBA for the next 5 years.

But as soon as that team starts making moves with other teams, I'm sure news would get out very quickly.

Nothing is official until July 7th anyway so it's irrelevant. Teams can't do anything.

Like most things regarding the Warriors, you can blame Harrison Barnes for declining an offer last season for anything that may happen.

Who/what are you praying to then? If KD goes to Boston, which deity will you give credit to?

True but with Lebron I felt like both times you could kind of tell within 24 hours of the announcement where he was headed (in 2010 all rumors said he was headed to Miami, in 2014 most rumors said he was coming back to Cleveland). With Durant it seems much quieter in terms of rumors and it seems much less clear what he's going to do.

That is how it happened with my Heat.

So many rumors and stories. I remember refreshing websites like a mad man for days. Then the Cavs started making moves and cleared cap space. You are correct people caught on to it.

We heat fans were still in denial but when the Cavs made moves to clear cap space. That was the confirmation. If he has not choosen to stay with OKC. I assume we will hear about player movement soon.

So I would be checking the wire for player movement to clear space. That would be the tell all sign

That basically already happened in the Finals this year.

My gut feeling is that he will sign with the Dubs.

Hopefully KD is typing up the Players Tribune piece right now, or it's being edited and ready to hit the internet soon.
Thank you Nico!

True it was leaning that way but it was still close to 50/50 in terms of who was rooting for who in the finals, if Durant joined GS I think almost all non GS fans would root against that team like with Lebrons Heat.

KD is a likable guy tho. And if you rooted for the Warriors to win 73 games & the championship last season, why would you root against them now?

Nah. Dubs will still be the popular team in the league. Sales of KD's Warriors jersey will go thru the roof. #1 in the NBA, I bet. This is all just a bunch of talk.

I'm pretty sure he stays in OKC for 1 more season. But something in my gut tells me SAS will get him, and that scary as hell..

I'm rooting for boston just because it balances out the top heavy west and creates a legit contender to Lebrons cavs in the East. Maybe they get Demarcus Cousins too if he's pissed about Rondo leaving.

The last thing kd signs with Boston is to balance out the western conference. It'll be pretty much GSW against Spurs or clippers
