Those FMVP will rightfully be Curry's

What he did was unprecedented and I'm not sure if there was a better team situation a free agent could have gone to in the whole existence of free agency. He's now making bank, playing with his friends, and as almost everyone points out is probably sleep-walking to a ring. It'll be cool to look back on how he thinks in a probable HOF speech/30 for 30.

Except he's not sleep walking anywhere... he has been trying to relearn how to play basketball. He asked Kerr to "coach him up". He's in a new system with new teammates. Aside from him learning a new system the team is going to have to develop chemistry on and off the court and learn to play together all over again with 7 new players.

And there is no "blowback" in this media market... there is nothing but adoration for him here.

Obviously he's allowed to do as he pleases, which includes playing for whichever team he wants, but that doesn't restrict us as fans from being able to voice our opinions on it. Anyone who compares this to LeBron's decision (which was a weak move in itself, though how he went about it was definitely the worst part) is being naive. LeBron is the guy who made the Heat a super team and without him they would've been a lower playoff seed, plus the team was new and unproven. Durant joined an experienced team that had the best regular season of all time and has one championship and 2 Finals appearances in the past 2 years - a team that could conceivably win the next 3 titles in a row EVEN if Durant never plays a single game... And it makes it worse that Durant led his team to a 3-1 collapse when they played each other in the playoffs last year.

The situations aren't comparable and I don't see where people are coming from when they say with a straight face that they don't see anything wrong with his decision.

Get over it! HIs decision is done and he's making millions. Enjoy your Cavs and the Indians.

Oh trust me I am (though the Browns put a damper on things). I'm not even speaking from the standpoint of the move making it harder for my Cavs to win going forward. It just makes the entire league worse off and it sucks to see, and I really can't understand how a competitor like Durant can have no problem with what he said in that quote.

When you're in the middle of a heated series and you're buddying up with the other team, yea there is. Especially if said opponent is kicking a teammate in the groin. But I'd expect GSW fans to see this differently. Shocking.

I would have made the same decision. He'll take some heat for a bit, then everyone will love him once/if they win a title. It's how it all works.

LMAO, come on now. For one, a (atleast relatively) healthy Cavs team in 2015 would of been the champs easily, and that would make the Cavs probably back to back champs at this point.
Interesting theory...Probably on the right track but then you conventianly left out the fact that Curry played at around 70 to 80% health in the 2016 Finals..Green missed critical game 5..Bogut was out of games 6 and 7..and last but certainly not least..Iguodala had massive hamstring issues in games 6 and 7..Warriors definitely would have won in 2016 with reasonable health

Warriors definitely wouldn't even have made the Finals if not for this bandwaggoner throwing the series - if you wanna look at it that way, you know.

Yup. Those who blindly hate him for doing this are hypocrites imo and aren't objective at all. None of them would reject the chance to work in a better workplace and live in a much better city. None would reject the chance to be happier in another place. For those who say, "but he could have gone to the Celtics", that doesn't make any sense as well. Why would he not play with his friends (Curry, Dray and Iggy) and play with people who are completely new to him in Boston? Why would he play for the less fun team? Why would he play for an inferior team? That doesn't make any sense. OKC would never be that relevant in the NBA without Durant. The man did a lot of good to OKC and its community but no, he is obviously the worst human being now. Any good he did to Oklahoma is completely forgotten. It's crazy how ungrateful some people can be.

Fans (and haters) just want what pleases them which is what is "right" means in their minds. Durant did nothing illegal by going to GS and he had every right to do so. Just like any other human being who gets an offer from a superior company. Speaking of competitiveness, if Durant wasn't competitive, he would never be the superstar that he is in the first place. Anyone who is at the top of his profession (and started like anyone else) is a competitive person. Denying that is stupid. Durant worked extremely hard to be where he is. If he wasn't a competitive person, why the hell would he work hard to be the best player that he can be?

What a shocker.
Those that don't like his decision - "SOFT!"
Those that are okay with it - "Its his life".
Warriors fans - still giggling like little school girls.

so you're expecting the GSW to go 82-0? I can see clowns coming out of the woodworks as soon as GSW loses their 1st game :noway:

F. Campazzo/ J. Clarkson/ K. Lewis Jr
D. Mitchell/ J. Richardson/S. Merrill
Luka/Melo
Zion/Gay/Gabriel
KAT/Kabengele

F. Mason, Jontay, J. Harris

As expected a lot of familiar faces calling him names and keep crying about the decision every opportunity they get. Some classy stuff here.

Just...it's interesting to note that he wanted to take Serge's role and Serge wanted to take his.

Utter nonsense. Durant won't look inferior to anyone on GSW. At worst he would be equal with Steph on the team. How the hell is that "wanting to take the Serge role"? You are letting your hate blind you here. Whether you like it or not, Durant will play a big role in GSW's future success if he stays healthy. "Best player on the team"-type role.

KD wanted it easy. He guaranteed himself a trip to the finals for the foreseeable future and only has to worry about real competition then.

The competitor that he used to be would have been pissed watching the finals and felt regret for choking.

Also, I think a huge part of his choice was he just doesn't like the crew in OKC. Westbrook gets tons of praise for carrying the team and racking up triple dubs whenever Durant is out, and he's got scrubs like Dion Waiters throwing a fit for someone to pass him the ball.

It's always a question that can and will come up about any players' decision (But, i guess he is a sought-after player by every team). Is he suppose to say it was a mistake and he wanted to actually go to Charlotte or something?

Remember when Kareem went to Lakers? Wilt Chamberlain? Shaq? Karl Malone and Payton to Lakers? Pau Gasol to Lakers? KG and Ray Allen to Celtics?

Ya'll act like this has happened for the first time ever in this sport. Can't control their decision. Deal with it or cry a river somewhere.
