The Clippers aren't going anywhere. I wish that talk would stop. No team should/will move. Sorry, but it's just the way it is.

It would be so much eaiser though.... adding new teams has to be ran perfeclty at the start. You gotta find the right owner , right Gm and land all star of some sort just to get people buy into the new team . Than theres other lottery teams competing for the top pick. It would get real ugly real quick. Look BKN picks sitatuion if they couldnt get top pick in 2019 beacuse a expaninson team.... oh boy.

Most basketball fans would be happy with just having a team tbh. As a Seattle guy, I just want to be able to attend NBA games again in my hometown. Having a successful team is always a plus. But, Seattle fans just want their team back. Other cities like Louisville & Vegas would be thrilled to have a team as well. Expansion is not the end of the world. Its great for growing the game. More cities/teams involved= more fans.

If those team could be sucessful and last , the nba as we know it would change. Putting a new team seattle doesnt make sense. The blazers are just state down. Las Vegas could use one.

They'd probably move the New Orleans Pelicans to the Eastern Conference, since that's where they used to be. ;)

--Mags :D

That makes sense, and I've always mentioned the first two named, before the Pelicans were back, but Minnesota has such natural rivalries with Chicago and Detroit...Wisconsin too, considering college and the Packers/Vikings.

If those team could be sucessfull you would have to change to baksetballl scheudle . Re range confernces as well. If the NBA is going expand its brand i see by moving teams arond. Like the raiders trying move Las Vegas.

Spell check? lol I kid. Seriously tho, its hard to make sense of this.

Yeah I keep forgetting about New Orleans. I think they need to move that team to Kansas City, makes more sense. Never really liked the name either. Pelicans? really?

Honestly the NBA could stand to delete a few teams. There arent enough complete teams so the parity is weak. Lebron James makes the finals every year because there is no Boston to compete with. The east and west needs at least three serious legit title contenders every year. Imagine Anthony Davis on the Blazers with Damian Lillard and McCollum. Thats an instant title contender and would make the playoffs a lot more interesting to watch. Imagine Boogie in Washington with Wall, Porter and Beal. No offense to Gortat but that the Wiz would become immediate must see TV. Maybe move Wiggins and Karl Towns with Westbrook to one team. The league would be much more unpredictable; especially playoff basketball.

I could see blazers heading north to Seattle for a bigger market.

If theres any team that should move its the clippers. They could stay in LA area , Anhiem or go to Las Vages. Both are sure money makers.

Expanding the leauge only works if you can fix the parity in league. Or at least make it more competivie.

They're never taking a team out of New Orleans in the foreseeable future. Too much has happened there.

No way in HELL does Paul Allen move Portland out of there.

Balmer wouldn't relocate the Clippers out of a major market like LA anytime soon. It's printing money for him by being there.

He MIGHT consider the Bay Area years down the road for the technological connection. But that's it, and even that's a reach.

Sometimes it's not always about the on the court reasoning. ;)

Political, cultural, $$$, and so many other OFF-court factors come into play. They (the NBA League) PURPOSELY waited too, until they found a new Owner who pledged not to move the team in the foreseeable future.

There's a reason they've gone back to NO like 3 times in about 10 years for the All-Star game. ;)

Would be a HUGE black eye if they pulled out anytime in the next 15 years or so.

Your right. He never would move that team. But, if by some long-shot he ever did, it would be Seattle & only Seattle. He still lives here & lets not forget that he was apart of the effort to move the Kings. He even tried to acquire the Bucks with the intention to move them to Seattle, before they were sold.

Somewhere between 20 and never. There aren't even enough star-quality players to have 20 competitive teams, let alone the 30 we already have.

I'm sure this is going to be unpopular, but, why does Seattle deserve a team? They had one and couldn't keep it. Seems like if they deserved a team they would have kept the last one.

I know it's pretty heartless, but, doesn't it make sense? It like building a quickie mart in the spot where a 7-11 just failed. Seems like a poor idea unless the surrounding business climate has changed somehow or you are offering a significantly different product.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I would recommend watching the documentary "SonicsGate". Google it.
