Why would Jackson workout for Boston that late risking an injury when he knows he will be gone at 4? if anything, Ainge looks pretty sheepish going after Jackson late just to use him as a another trade asset.

After all that happened Josh Jackson camp scheduled a work out with Celtics, but made them fly out cross-country. After they made the flight he cancelled. :D

I don't doubt that McD reached out to JJ's camp and explained the scenario. Probably told him about the PT available in Phoenix compared to the log jam in Boston. There are plenty of reasons why he could have cancelled that workout 5(!) days before the draft.

JJ most likely had a promise from Philadelphia and Phoenix. If anything, he is upset Philadelphia backed off last minute to draft Fultz, who he considers an inferior player(hence the tweet). Boston came into this party late

A draft guarantee doesn't preclude working out for someone else. You never know, good to have a backup plan. Almost certainly it was more than that.

Ainge always schedules second workouts with guys he drafts. Not sure why scheduling a second workout with a guy the week of the draft is evidence of Ainge lying...

Why would they work him out at #1, he's not #1 worthy. Turns out he's not even #3 worthy either.

Just like Kawhi or IT weren't #1 worthy, or #3 worth apparently. What silly logic.

You can't work out everybody, Leonard was picked #15, IT the last pick. Just to be safe why don't every team work out 50 players to make sure they don't leave any stones unturned?

The Celtics didn't see him as an option at #1 but felt that he'd be worth a look at #3, nothing wrong with that.

Gamesmanship happens all the time. Couldn't care less that he refused to workout--that's well within his rights and he should utilize whatever leverage he can to get to where he wants.

Canceling a workout when a guy is mid flight cross country to see you is a dick move, though. No two ways about it.

I said apparently, since they ended up not picking him.

Naw, I bring up sample size, neither of which is large enough to definitely declare anything

25 years ago Ainge left John Paxton 15 feet open.

Yesterday Ainge left Josh Jackson 15 minutes open.

I hope they both end up with championships on the end of it.

He didn't want to play for Boston. Otherwise he would of meet with them. But, players/agents have been doing the same for years. Nothing new.

This, 100%.

Chad Ford reported that Agents of top prospects weren't gunna let their clients work out with Boston. It was pretty obvious that he was referring to Ball and Jackson-- I even called it pre-lotto.

These guys basically have no say in where they spend the majority of their professional career. They should use whatever leverage they can to alter the process. I say that as a Boston fan, too.

McD learned from the best. Although this has more to do with shady azz agents like Rich Paul and BJ Armstrong. In fact the reason the Suns signed Isaiah was because Rich Paul wouldn't return the Suns phone calls after offering Bledsoe a contract as a RFA. Agents mane... must drive GM's nuts.

He had Tatum #1, man. If you want to convince yourself that your GM manufactured this, knock yourself out. Just know that your lying to yourself.

Meh

Jackson can't shoot.

Jackson 54.9% from 2
Tatum 50.4% from 2

The only advantage Tatum has over Jackson is FT's.

70% of Josh's shots were dunks. But if you check his jump shots are around 42%

If he had Tatum #1 then like we said before, this is a non story and is only being brought up by salty celtics fans because they wanted Jackson whether they want to admit it or not.
