Nance was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when he was 16 years old. However, for several years before he received an official diagnosis, he suffered from symptoms of the disease – painful cramping, weight loss, fatigue, and stunted growth - with fatigue being the most debilitating. The extreme tiredness, a common symptom experienced by patients living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, impacted his life majorly.

“I didn’t deal with [the fatigue] well. I laid around the house all day, I had no energy [to do anything],” he said. “I slept in class and I wasn’t that kind of kid… I didn’t have the energy to practice or play [any sports].”

After several years exhibiting symptoms, his parents realized that something was seriously wrong and took him to see the doctor. After performing a few diagnostic tests, Nance was diagnosed with Crohn’s.

He'd probably have gone to a much bigger college program than Wyoming if he was diagnosed earlier.

Hey, at least he didn't suffer from the stunted growth.

Stunted growth? How tall would this guy be if not for stunted growth?

He's about 6'7" and his dad was an inch or two taller. He has a brother who's a high school senior and 4 star prospect who's listed between 6'9" - 6'10" and a sister who's 6'5".

If he had the size for a center with that kind of athleticism, he would have been amazing.

Only one out of every 10,000 people have situs inversus, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, and the condition is not life-threatening. Foye said it doesn't affect his play, but he has an increased likelihood of bronchitis and respiratory infections.

he's believed to be the only player in major American sports to have the condition.

Yea, this was the first one that popped into my mind. I hadn't even heard of this until I read about Foye having this and it's still amazing to me that this condition exists, let alone someone plays basketball with it.

I was really sad when i found out he was a cancer patient.

And to think, nobody would have know if KG hadn't brought it to everyone's attention.

:O you're kidding, right? Dude's got some Alopecia condition, not cancer

Lol he's referencing the comments KG made to Charlie V during a game. But KG later clarifyed that what he said was " Charlie V is cancerous to his team and the league " not that he has cancer

Demarre Carroll has some kind of a rare liver disease which might require a transplant eventually. Never seen the actual condition specified though.

Wow, I didn't know about that. I looked it up and it sounds like he has primary sclerosing cholangitis. His age, gender, and his involvement with the foundation suggests it.

Dajuan Wagner had the colon issue that pretty much put him out of the league.
