The Spurs are not trading Kawhi at this point unless they get a godfather offer. Saric, Covington and a pick is NOT nearly enough tbh and Fultz has little value too. Pop hasn't even pulled out his trump cards in Robinson and Duncan who will ultimately talk sense into Kawhi. Wouldn't be surprised if he signs a supermax with the Spurs next summer. BTW, I believe the rumors are true that Kawhi does not want to play with LeBron. Not surprising since other young stars like Kyrie and PG obviously don't want to play with LeBron either. Teams that want to lure LeBron from Ohio will have to pony up and acquire a legit star to play with him even if it means sacrificing a big chunk of their youth. Cavs were willing to do it in 2014 but LeBron will be 34 so that's a tough call now.

It’s obvious what Lebron is doing, he wants to play on whoever gets Kawhi between LA and Philly. If neither get him then he will have a really hard decision to make since Philly is way ahead of Lakers in being contenders right now. Lebron wants to play on the team that is most stacked in the end between the two franchises.

If it seems like Lebron + Kawhi might go to the Sixers, it would be in the Celtics best interest to sacrifice Jaylen Brown + Sac Pick + fillers to get Kawhi before the Sixers get him first. I realize that the Celtics do not want to lose out on Brown but they really really don't want the Sixers getting Lebron + Kawhi.

It’s possible that could happen but I don’t think the spurs are in any rush to trade Kawhi right now. My thinking is that Lebron will have to make a decision first which I bet he really doesn’t want to make before the Kawhi trade. If say Lebron goes to Philly and then Philly presents a strong package to San Antonio, maybe then Boston gives the San Antonio a strong package to avoid a team like that from happening but right now Boston, San Antonio, and the Sixers likely are in no rush to get Kawhi. Lebron news is the first domino that everyone is waiting on and then you’ll see how aggressive teams are going after Kawhi depending on what happens.

But you aren't disagreeing with me. Again, if it seems like Lebron provides an ultimatum to the Sixers that he will go there if they get Kawhi, then the Sixers will present an excellent package to the Spurs with like a 48 hours deadline to take it or leave it forever. And in that scenario (which is what I outlined about Lebron + Kawhi might going to the Sixers) is where Ainge has to bite the bullet and present a better package (which is most likely Jaylen Brown + Sac Pick + filler) to beat the Sixers package.

Assuming he means with his reps, confirmed they’re meeting with Rich Paul.

Honestly seems like he'll just go wherever Kawhi ends up going.

Well yeah I’m not disagreeing but I don’t know if the Sixers could convince the spurs they have a short amount of window to trade Kawhi to them or else they’ll move on. I can’t see that happening, pretty much every team involved with Kawhi really wants him. I still think the spurs are going to drag this out imo as much as possibly, certainly after Lebron makes his decision to get the best package possible from either la, Boston, or Philadelphia

The fact it was unplanned may mean that he is pivoting away from the Lakers.

This is the 2nd straight year LeBron's dream to play with PG hasn't manifested.

people seem to forget the Pop and BB connection.. think that will prove to be more beneficial for us than some realize, if Pop had to pick any team to trade kawhi too, I'm pretty sure it would be us

Philly being in the EC while having a far more talented roster than the Lakers could hope to get (even if they acquired Kawhi) makes it a bit of a no brainer on the basketball side of things. Then Philly can trade Fultz for Walker and legitimately have a good chance to win a title.

Can't blame him. He's probably just sleeping in after doing so much traveling within the last 24 hours. On top of that, he had a late dinner date with Magic last night.

at this point I see LeBron staying in Cleveland, there is no opportunity to form another super team that can compete with GSW after PG stayed in OKC

Pacific Standard Time. Dinner at around 9 isn't that draining.

It is following a flight from Anguilla to LA. Traveling drains me like no other.
