Well, Mutombo is probably 7'1 without the shoes and he looks a bit bigger than Embiid (angle can be misleading). Shaq is between 6'11 and 7'0 without the shoes (we have both numbers in many articles about him), for me Embiid looks similar.

The best way to compare them is to look at Gobert - Rudy is just under 7'1 without the shoes and he's clearly taller than Embiid.

I'd bet on 6'11 and a half but it's just a guess. He's huge man who looks bigger than he is, just like Shaq.

I'm more interested in how much Embiid weighs. Zumoff (sp?) and the Sixers announcers always say he's 250lbs? I think he'd be more like 280?

Early in the season he said his ideal weight is between 275-280. He was ~3 pounds over at the start of the season because he was rehabbing the knee. I imagine he was within that band before Markelle hit him with the cursed shoulder at the end of the regular season

Shaq was more explosive than Embiid and I think a bit more coordinated, as well as Embiid moves around he's pretty clumsy at times and always seems to end up on the floor.
