Has Lebron always been this whiny dude that doesn't take accountability for himself/failures?

The question should be, why is Lebron to blame for the Lakers failures this season when a) the team has been much better when he’s in the lineup and b) all he’s done throughout his career is win at a high level?

He made the Finals out of the EC though. I give Kobe & TD more credit for making the Finals out of the WC 7 & 6 times...while winning it 5 times. Lebron's has a losing record in the playoffs against WC teams.

Everyone is aware that the east isn’t as strong but he made the finals 8 straight seasons and won 3 titles. And the season before the streak his Cavs team won 60 games with Mo Williams as the 2nd best players.

So what numbers are you looking for before you’re going to concede that he’s a winner? 8 finals and 7 titles? 8 titles? 9 titles??? Or is he automatically a loser because he was in the weaker conference? Is thst how it works?

Not sure how people are going to spin his track record into losing but they certainly seem to be giving it a shot these days. As ridiculous as that notion is. Even Laker fans such as yourself can’t appreciate his greatness. Too funny

Lakers fans especially don't like him because they're insecure about Kobe.

I always thought you were a better poster than saying stuff like this.

Irving and Love played a total of zero combined playoff games before Bron became their teammate. So are you saying they were better players when their teams sucked? Bron made them worse by helping them win a title and turn their loser reputations into that of a winner?

The response will probably be something about "Kyrie was young before Lebron came", but look at Boston this year. All last year we heard about "wait till Kyrie is back"; "Lebron barely beat a team of rookies, he would've gotten beat if Kyrie had played" etc., yet they're the 5th seed in the east this year with Kyrie.

He has only been like this since going back to Cleveland. He was never like this in Miami or his first go around in Cleveland.

Still remember his post 2017 finals comments about him doing all “he” could strongly inferring his teammates were the reason they lost. While true, it stood out as pretty low class at the time.

Sorry but he is the last one that should be talking. This is the dude that just came out and basically said, okay now I'm going to play with intensity. If I'm the rest of the Lakers, I will be wondering why the hell did you wait this long to "activate" yourself?

Then after all that, the guy just doesn't care about defense or getting back on transition. The guy gives 0 effort and it's obvious.

I would laugh my ass off if one of the teammates called out his effort. Also it's not like he's not getting help either.

Ingram (last 19 games): 19.5/5/4 on 52% shooting and actually playing defense (one of the few on the team)

Kuzma (last 16 games): 21/5/2 on 47/36/75 shooting

He says the injuries have hurt the chemistry, but uhhh nah the pandering to trade them all and negative comments that deem them unworthy is what has probably taken a toll on your team Lebron. The camaraderie from past teams seems to be more that he was adored and gushed over and these guys seem over him/not so in awe of him and aren't ready to run through a wall for him.

It is a generational thing.

LeBron's teams over the last 8-10 years have been filled with guys who are around his age or from the same generation. The only guys on this team that fit that bill is McGee, Rondo, and Tyson. This isn't really a LeBron problem either, Kobe had the same issue near the end. It just hard to build relationships with guys who are 10-12 years younger then you.

Ingram is 63rd of 88 small forwards in DRPM. Kuzma is 85th of 94 power forwards in DRPM. LeBron is 5th among small forwards and 2nd on his team. Claiming that he doesn't play defense is absolute nonsense. He also leads the Lakers in points, rebounds and assists.

Well Kyrie was 19/20/21 on a team that was gutted. So ya I don't think anyone should expect a player to make the playoffs in that situation. Also Kyrie helped lead Boston to the 2 seed last year and this year has been the only consistent player on Boston. Kyrie's game has also taken a massive step since going to Boston.

You're 100% wrong. Kevin Love and Chris Bosh both had their best TS% when playing with Lebron. Mo Williams was an all-star playing next to Lebron. He shot 42.9% and 43.6% from 3 on 5+ attempts the two years he played with Lebron. He never shot over 38.9% in any other season. Without Lebron he had more seasons under 37% (7) than over (4).

lol...

Kevin Love went from 59 TS% in Minnesota to 56, 55, and 57% in Cleveland the next three years, and it wasn't until his 4th year in Cleveland where he eclipsed that 59% threshold and only played 50 games that season. His PER went from 26 to 18. VORP from 7 to 2. BPM from 8 to 2. WS/48 from 2.24 to .165. Literally all his box scores and advanced metrics plummeted with LeBron.

Chris Bosh average TS% in Toronto was 57.1% and his TS% in Miami was 57.3%. Given that his volume was much higher in Toronto, you can't sit here with a straight face and peddle that he go better with LeBron. His PER, VORP, BPM and WS/48 ALL considerably dropped in Miami too, so I'm not even sure why you're focusing on stat.

DRPM, is one of the better defensive stats.. but it's still very flawed.

According to DRPM Lebron is playing much better defense this year than last year. That's a fairly absurd proposition.

What I find interesting about the Lakers is how their defense has completely fallen off a cliff without Lonzo. Is he actually that important? (I don't have a strong feeling either way, but the numbers are somewhat eye-opening).

In any case I actually have way more of a problem with guys not giving effort than guys who just aren't that good. Lebron clearly hasn't been giving full effort (and it's not like i have a problem with guys resting some on defense... but what Lebron doing is pretty far beyond that)

It's weird how people use his FInals appearances to elevate Bron, but get upset when his bad Finals record is brought up. They go hand in hand. Then you compound things by Bron forming his Wade/Bosh and Love/Kyrie teams, and the results really are unimpressive.

Singling out Bosh and Love to use as examples is sort of disingenuous to say the least. Both went from being the primary focal point on offense on mediocre teams to being the 3rd option on championship caliber teams. Of course their metrics are going to go down to some degree. At the same time, LeBron played 8 years with them and went to 8 finals and won 3 rings. It might have been 4 if Love was there for the 2015 playoff run. Any time 3 stars get together on a team at least one is going to sacrifice his stats to some degree. Kyrie's went up and Love's went down.

Durant's PER, VORP, BPM and WS/48 have all dropped since joining the Warriors. Durant's PER this year is 25.0, his lowest since 2011 when he was 22. His WS/48 is at its lowest since 2011. His BPM is at its lowest since 2011. His TS% is at its lowest since 2012. And it's not just this year. His numbers were also worse last year. Does that mean Curry has made him a worse player, broski?

If you are going to bring up the 3-6 finals record then there's no point in bring up him playing in the weaker conference. You can't use both things against him at the same time. Had he played in the west and gone 3-0 in the finals what would the criticism be?

I mean they were 35-47 last year with a young core, I'm not sure what it could be that caused the young core's talent to stagnate instead of progress
