The LA Lebrons lol just put his face on the Jersey and be done with it. Ty Lue? Coaching the most heralded franchise of the sport? Sheesh. Lakers deserve better.

He doesn't want to coach college (or rather would much prefer the NBA). Hates the recruiting thing.

How many playoff teams will be firing their coaches though?
(Now watch, Stotts will be fired)

Not sure what they expected from him.
The Lakers out a terrible, terrible roster together.
Frankly, Walton deserves credit for keeping such a motley crew of personalities on one year deals from ripping each other apart.
He will find another gig, quickly.

Re: Shams: Luke Walton and Los Angeles Lakers Mutually Part Wars
It is lamentable to me. Luke's rotational habits were questionable at times, but he did successfully inculcate the respectable defensive culture this team needed the most—that is, until it foundered between all the injuries and locker-room implosions this year—and we can only ruminate about the coach the 39-year-old would grow into (or rue about it when we see him realizing that potential on another team).
He didn't quite maximize this roster's talent, granted, but the lion's share of the blame should fall on the front office for misbuilding this team to begin with; it's simply unfathomable that any NBA team in 2019 couldn't field more than a few playably competent shooters (from both the three-point and free-throw line), and it doesn't seem worthwhile to jettison Luke over it when the team's ceiling out West (with their realistic health, at least) was as first-round fodder in the playoffs.
I don't deny that better-suited coaches are hireable, but who's going to trust the FO to hire the right one after all of this year's mismoves? LeBron, who has basically commandeered this team, wants a kowtowing figurehead (a la Tyronn Lue)—not the type of coach who'll build on, or even maintain, what Luke has done on the defensive end.
The Lakers unnecessarily lost another pillar of their rebuilding process, which was almost all but completely uprooted at the trade deadline, and the LeBron-signing is looking even more pernicious with every FO move.

Come to SAC, I would take Luke in a hearthbeat.
Go get it done Vlade.

Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

Still, being fired might be a blessing in disguise.
He'll get another job in a, let's say, less complicated environnment which can only be good for a young coach.
The Ty Lue rumor is laughable though.
Just shows Lakers still have no idea what they're doing.
lol...he wasn't anything special..People wanted Luke fired long before Lebron came.
What i dont want though is Ty **** Lue...Let us try Juwan he has gotten big praise.

Lol about Ty Lue - Lakers are like a pethetic wannabe copying Cleveland now that their “own way” failed miserably.
So much for being such a “storied franchise”....lololololol. Like one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen a franchise do.

With all due respect guys, Luke was pretty garbage this season EVEN with the injuries.. the line ups he put out were attrocious man. Like with HIS line ups, he basically let other teams catch up and/or get leads..

Exactly! There were countless times where he had LeBron, Kuzma and Ingram all on the bench at the end of the third quarter. There's no excuse for having your three best players all on the bench at the same time. It would allow the other team to get back into the game. People will blame LeBron for this, but Luke deserved to be fired for his own performance. It wasn't good at all.

I like Luke ALOT as a person. Hes an amazing character guy. I will miss him being our coach I promise, but some things you just got to do. He wasn't the right coach for a team that is going to have multiple all stars next season.

He was a terrible coach ever since the Lakers hired him and now he's the next CoY since the Lakers fired him? Never change, GB. Never change.

it depends...for example, if we lost to rockets in 5 games i dont see how Steve Kerr can keep his job

Of course he got Lebron'd. Never had a chance. That's what happens with the guy.

Juwan would be an interesting choice even though ideally you'd rather have an experienced coach on a team with LeBron and potentially one more star.
But then again how many of those are available?
But I seriously wonder what could be going through anyone's mind to consider Lue (same with Kidd/Jackson)

Yes it's all LeBron's fault that the Lakers fired a coach who won only 39.8% of his games as head coach.

James is a virus that just rips through the host. They should have traded him instead. It’s not going to work in the little time he has left.
Jackson or Lue will just be the topper here.
