how about Green and KCP for CP3 who agrees to a paycut?

Green is untouchable imo. He unlocks the Lakers' spacing, and is more valuable than Paul alone. Plus I think KCP has a trade block clause. I actually think it's impossible.

The Thunder would probably love that, but doubt CP3 would.

i'd wanna stay for at least a year if i were him. that city has a hard on for him and it would unquestionably be his team. he's not gonna get that anywhere else at this point in his career.

Agreed. I am very impressed with what they got from blowing up team that were destined for 1st round exit every year. Now it feels like they have future.

I don't understand why people are so high on this "collection of picks". Clips and Rockets picks will likely be late first rounders.

They get Houstons picks 24 and 26, so Westbrook and Harden are gone or far from their prime. Same with Clippers picks, half of those are after PG13's and Kawhi's contracts have expired. So who knows how high those end up.

maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see any team willing to buy out a 3-year/124M contract. And I sure can't see CP walking away from that money. Say he was willing to 'give back' 15M...that's 12%...that would still leave OKC sitting on 3 years of dead salary at 36M/year...ain't happening

CP3 would have to be willing to miss out on a lot of money if he wants a buy out.

Setting aside his involvement with the CBA stuff, this is a guy that wouldn’t take a penny less than a max contract when his team was on the verge of a finals appearance... there’s just no way he’s eating enough salary to make a buyout palatable to OKC.

I agree but he is kind of out of options here. Unless he has no issue playing for a rebuilding team in OKC.

Hopefully, karma gets CP. As head of the players union he has pushed to benefit the top few percent, rather than the majority that he represents. He has hoodwinked the players into believing that supermaxes are best for the players, while the majority of the people that he represents are out of the league in a few years and broke. He got his max contract, I hope he never has success on the court.

Cp3 back to the clips could be what Harrell was taking about. That’d be wild.

Has any player ever in the history in the league ever agreed to a buyout for anything even remotely close to $120M? There are 3 years left on his contract...

If Chris Paul was traded to Milwaukee they would win the title. You can slow down Giannis by playing a 3-2 zone like Toronto did in the playoffs. To counter that Milwaukee really needs someone who can run a great PNR with Giannis. I'll say it right now if Chris Paul wants to win a title go to Milwaukee.

If you go to Miami they are a second round and out team. Perhaps if they could find a way to get Dwight and Iggy they could be a challenger for the East. Chris Paul and Jimmy Butler is not enough.

I would say this should be his list.

1. Milwaukee - Giannis / Chris Paul PNR with that much shooting be incredible.
2. San Antonio do a deal without giving up DD and LA. Add Paul I think they still could challenge the West top teams
3. Minnesota - Towns and Paul be a very efficient PNR duo
4. Miami - not sure if Paul and Butler are doing anything special. It is getting you closer to relevance
5. Dallas- perfect fit. Paul and Luka sharing the ball handling duties. 100% KP 2nd year Luka with CP. = 50 wins.

Cp3 was talking to Jay-Z about his future and impact once. Now he is being thrown out like paper with too many 0eros on it.

I really don't think so. It would be unprecedented. It's highly unlikely that it happens but I just don't see CP3 wanting to play for a rebuilding team at this stage of his career.

Regarding the Miami Heat....
-$1.1 million in apron space which is important since they're hard capped.
-to take on CP3's $38,506,482 salary, they'd need to send out at least $37.5.
-19/20 apron is $138 million
-should be a pretty easy trade to execute. Goran, Winslow, Leonard and a pick.

Milwaukee might not be an awful idea. CP3 will be better than Bledsoe through 2023 probably, and Milwaukee won't have much cap flexibility anyways.

OKC didn't trade the most popular player in there history for a couple of first round picks only to buy out Chris Paul. They are fully aware there is a trade market for Chris Paul. He is still one of the best PNR players in the league but rarely could play middle PNR in Houston. Still a strong defender. The third year of his contract is not an issue because its expiring at that point and has trade value. He easily should have 2 good seasons left in him.

I wasn’t saying for Harrell if that’s what you meant. But obviously it’s not happening, their depth would be dead if they could match salaries.

Lakers and Clippers don't have the salaries to send out to get cp3. At least right now. In 6 months, they could.

Teams that could pull it off now and could use an upgrade at PG- Detroit, Minnesota, Miami, Dallas. Need about $32 million in outgoing money to take on CP3 in a 2 team trade.

I agree that OKC wouldn't buy him out but I doubt that there is a huge market for CP3 right now. His value is at best neutral (if not negative).

OKC adds a bunch of short term contracts and Winslow as the prized young guy to add to their core.
Miami adds two studs ready to win now.

Miami's starting 5 actually looks pretty decent after this, imo...

Cp3/Waiters/J.Butler/J.Johnson/Adams

Let them go sign Korver, Nene, and Shumpert for depth and I think they'd be the third best team in the East after MIL and PHI.

I like it. Miami throws in 2 first rounders and it's perfect.
