KD is going to drop a few spots because of the injury. I'll probably wind up voting around 7-8 for him. I voted for Harden.

With Westbrook and Butler on the list its a travesty to not have Kyrie on there yet.

I tend to sway to players who are elite on both sides of the ball so for me it was between AD and possibly Embiid at this point

PS... I have a big problem with KD getting votes too. He WILL NOT suit up this year. He will likely never be 100% again (although I'd love him to prove me wrong). He should NOT be on this list.

He missed half the playoffs, isn't close to the most important on his team, and went 6-4 in the playoffs with one of the most stacked lineups in the league Now that he's missing next season the poll should be "shut down" if harden's picked over him? :lol:

Edit: nvm, might as well keep KD in. Poll #1 - #4 all had KD in, so removing him will skew the vote. Maybe at the end of #25 you can total all KD votes into the winner of each poll.

Insane Harden is going to get picked ahead of AD.

Nothing to feel insane about.

The simple answer is AD basically forfeited half of the season last year and during his career, outside of one year, he didn't have much noise in the post season aka the biggest stage.

Even with Kawhi you have a former champion and FMVP, who basically got forgotten in all the rankings last summer. One year later, people talking about Kawhi vs Jordan, how Kawhi altered LeBron's legacy, all kinds of crazy stuff. One year, that's all it takes.

That's just how people think. If AD produces a strong MVP worthy season next year, all neutral fans will go for AD >>> Harden because "he plays both sides of the ball".

Is the rank based on current ability, the upcoming season, the past season, or something else?

Because apparently some people (voting for Durant) are voting based on last season?

NBA 2K just rated Kevin Durant a 96 (same as Harden and Curry). This is their ‘Top 20 Overall’ which should be very similar to our ‘Top 25 Overall’:

Durant was higher than #5 based on the past season, but once we consider he’s not playing this coming season and he suffered an injury that nobody has ever come back from at close 100%, I just can’t vote for him.

Durant might still come back as a top player but we’ve seen the last of his peak.
