He should go to Philly, he would make them favorites.

Rockets is his best choice IMO. They need a defensive stopper on the wing and he'd enjoy their system.

I'm not even sure how much this helps. Just thought it was somewhat interesting. As I said IF true my biggest positive is it keeps him from the Lakers or Rockets. I don't want to deal with Iggy's defense in a playoff series.

It's a clickbait title otherwise, and this isn't Bleacher Report, so you don't need to do that. Of course Iggy to the Clips would be big news, of course you want to keep him away from opponents, but some guy on a podcast speculating is not news. It's not really anything other than pie in the sky dreaming. The grizzlies will hold onto him until the deadline, and maybe after if they want to spite the teams that need him. They don't care if Iggy gets what he wants, he hasn't done anything for them. He's a trade asset, and nothing more. If he wants a buyout, he needs to give up millions to make it worth their time. At this point, Iggy is basically a prisoner of his own contract and greed.

Do the Clippers not have their own forum?

It makes sense for the clippers to keep him off other teams but it doesn't make sense for Iggy. Leaning towards a trade proposition here.

Clippers could use a defensive center, who can move the ball and shoot 3's. They should pick up Marc Gasol at the trade deadline.

As a Raptors fan I'm totally okay with this idea. Gasol for Zubac/Robinson/Harkless would be quite a rebuilding haul.

Pass. That's whole lot of 'meh' loading up your cap space. Raptors would be better off using the expiring contract or capspace to take on bad deals & get picks because Ujiri knows how to draft & develop.

Iggy is one of the rare guys who can guard Kawhi pretty well so for that reason alone they should sign him. Than when you talk about the defense of Beverly, Iggy, Kawhi, George on the court together wow.

I wonder what the others will do if it gets past the traded deadline and the Grizz release him he will probably go to the Lakers.

Teams like the clips and rockets have to find a way to get this done before that.

He wont find much playing time with the Clippers.

I actually think he would be a great fit on the Blazers but he probably wont give them much consideration

This is a very good point. Clippers could be playing chess with this type of move.

Exactly the clippers don't need him but if they don't get him they will probably face him.

Clippers wouldn’t even want to touch this kills depth for a expiring and wastes a prospect. Just sign Noah if they need a spare big for nothing

Doc likes to swap full units in and out so most bench players get 20 mins per game. Lou and Harrell see a little bit more than that but between Green at the 4 and Doc maybe trying to get PG and Kawhi around 32 mins he should see 20-22mpg

I think he has 17million reasons to shut up and play ball in MEM
This is THE largest paycheck he's ever gotten.

He's 36 so Ballmer has to give him like 2 years and 20+ otherwise he's crazy to walk/take a buyout from 17mil.

I'd like him in LA over MEM, esp with a chip on his shoulder.

Well for starters, Iggy is a poor 3 point shooter.

With a $17 million contract attached, I don't see him joining the clippers or any other contender without a buyout first.

He hits threes when it matters and did so plenty of times for us in our title runs....he can still bring a lot to the game

Clearly didn’t watch him for us in the playoffs...he had a habit of making timely threes.

Sept 3rd or 4th is when Iggy's trade restriction is lifted to combine him with players in trade. No other reason to wait this long or to end of weak just to buy him out.

Memphis have to cut 2 roster spots to meet regulation but Clippers are over the cap, where they cannot trade for Iggy 1-1.

What I think is a possibility is Memphis have a consolidation trade with a non playoff team for a bad contract, picks & that team who is slightly over the tax will buyout Iggy who will then walk to Clippers for the vet min.

Memphis wanted a pick for Iggy & have to buyout roughly 12-30m best to worse case to trim roster to regulation. A 3-1 deal for a bad contract that nets them a couple picks for players they had to otherwise buyout at 30m makes sense.

i.e. (Iggy, Hill, Plumlee) for (Paul + 2-3 FRP's)

With this deal, Memphis trim their roster to regulation without having to buyout anyone but can if they work a deal with Paul. They net a couple picks for otherwise large buyout options.

I never said he as washed up, but he is fading and he's going to be tough for any team to take on via trade at $17 million. Memphis isn't going to take a multi year deal back in return without a lot of compensation and I don't think the Clippers want to part with Harkless which would be the necessary contract in a trade.

Maybe Minny with Dieng or Dallas with Hardaway Jr
