The Bulls were basically the villains to my 90s Pacers teams, and I despise almost everything Lakers out of pure principle, but I never found this argument that Jackson only won because of the talent he had on his rosters to be persuasive.
All those top players he coached have a total of one ring without Phil Jackson, and it's not because they lacked the opportunity.
I'm not saying the only reason Jackson won was because of those players, I'm simply saying every time he did win, he had far and away the most talented team in the NBA. I can't remember ever seeing a Phil Jackson team overachieve.
