Wasn't eligible to be traded this season but can be traded in the offseason if that's the way the Wiz want go.

The extension doesn't really matter. He signed it when he was in one place in his life and he may be in another by season's end.

One trigger might be that he didn't make the All-Star team this year even though he's having his best season. That may be an eye-opener for him. If he was on the Lakers with those numbers he'd be a top vote getter, but on the Wizards he's forgotten.

I'm sure he thinks about that.

Why every bad player must demand trade to be carried by better teammates. I don't get it.

Tommy Sheppard definitely told Bradley Beal to give it a run with John Wall and Rui Hachimura for 2 seasons before opting out and possibly going elsewhere.

Beal even said the key to Wizards’ success is Wall himself.

Just because a player demands a trade doesn't mean that he wants to be in a situation where other people do all the work for him.

Perhaps Beal might want to be in a more ideal situation in terms of winning.

Everyone wants to be part of a championship team. He had a choice. He chose money over joining better team at the time.

He can always request a trade later and see if he can end up on a better team.

That's what I would do if I were him.

They have some tough decisions coming up. Besides Wall and Beals contracts, Bertans is about to get paid. I heard they want to keep him but they could end up with close to 90 Million locked up in those three players.

Wall 41.2 Million, Beal 28.7 Million, Bertans 15 - 20 Million.

That is not a Big Three but that is Big Three money.

Doesn't sound like a guy that's second guessing his decision and Washington has no interest in trading him, so what it's it to you guys...

How bad is Beal on defense? His DRPM is an atrocious -3.69. Worst defensive SG in the entire league?

Seeing as how GMs/owners trade players on a whim I have no problems with players getting their money and demanding a trade later. No loyalty in this BUISNESS.

Worst overall defender according to PIPM unless Trae Young overtook him.

People talking about “he knew what he signed up for when he signed an extension” need to get outta here with that BS. Nothing stopping a player from locking in his money and then trying to use whatever leverage he has to move himself to a better situation.

Teams move players right after they sign a new deal all the time.

The Wizards should move on from both Wall and Beal. Wall's contract will make him unmoveable tho.

1) Wizards could be a total different team next season. Wall will return. There are some good young rookies that can evolve: Rui, Troy, Bryant, Wagner, 2020 really high FRP rookie. Bertans may stay.

2) If Beal gets traded, the other team may be deflected after giving up too much value in the trade. The higher bidder could be a desperate team and could take some time to this team be a real contender (Knicks, for example). Even Miami would be obligated to give away their precious rookies to get Beal.

And so was CP3...until he wasnt.
Wall is unmovable...until he comes back and drops a 26 & 12 game... and then he wont.
Did you not see how much money the Grizzlies just lit on fire to acquire backup wing for 13M/year???

I just can't see them getting to championship level.

He took money over winning. Did he really have faith in a piss poor organization building a winner? That's his choice. He's a great player, but not worth stripping your team to acquire.

But the thing is, CP3 was quite active, he's always injured but didn't such a serious injury like Wall had on the offseason and Wall relies way to much on his athleticism, given the injury he's had, he isn't coming back quite as good as he was. His contract indeed is untradeable. I really hope he comes back well, I'll never wish anything but good for others, but I don't think it'll happen.
