Just look at him now compared to him in high school and college. He is significantly thicker and not nearly as agile or explosive. He is also visibly gassed after just a few minutes of play and that includes putting zero effort in on the defensive end. At Duke he was built like a Middle Linebacker, now he is built like a 3/4 defensive end. Just the way he moves now is very different than at Duke.

There isn't a worse city in America than New Orleans for someone who has trouble keeping their weight down. The food there is too good. On the flip side though Ingram should be good to go.

Even then we knew that was a fluke.

Zion being out of shape and on a minutes restriction right now is legitimately concerning.

Have a feeling Pelicans are being extremely cautious with Zion cause of his recent injury and the weight factor so I get the minutes restriction even with the 4 month layoff. The lack of conditioning to me is what's surprising about Zion at this point. He's great in short bursts but this isn't football. I wonder is he going to have to be one of these players that an organization has to monitor all year round even in the off-season cause of the potential weight gain. Zion may be the type that uses training camp and the regular season exclusively to get in game shape, similar to Shaq

Dallas Cowboys tackle Tyron Smith is about Zion's height and listed at 320. I get that football players tend to carry a ton of muscle, but there's not 40 lbs difference between these two. I'm thinking 10 or so.

Are we talking about the miniscus tear from a year ago that they already gently eased him back from? Sorry, but i dont think you can use that excuse. I really want there to be some kind of excuse that would explain it, but it just looks like he not only didnt improve on his shape, but somehow got in worse shape. This is so disappointing as when zion is actually on he is truly must see tv. Its a shame

I’m sorry, but a 20 year old #1 pick shouldn’t be on a minutes restriction because he’s too fat to play a normal amount. This should be very concerning for Pelicans fans. He looks enormous compared to what he looked like at duke.
