Yes all the teams are now playing their 8 regular season games that count for the final standings. Started with 2 games last night and continues today and for the next couple weeks.

Is their any weighting in these games or they just count as one normal win? Almost impossible for the wizards to make it.

It's a pretty weird system they set up. These 8 games count as a normal regular season game. But if a team finishes 9th and within 4 games of the 8 seed at the end of the reg season, the 8th seed and 9th seed play a 2-out-of-3 "play-in tournament" where the 8 seed can advance to the playoffs with 1 win or the 9th seed can leapfrog them by winning two in a row. Then the winner of that takes the 8th seed and makes the playoffs. So a team can finish 9th after these 8 games and still make the playoffs.

Edit: I guess the play-in is not really best two out of three since it can only go two games max.

Nurk is not quite there as a scorer yet post injury but man he is an anchor on both ends of the floor simply due to his movement and screen setting. he is 25 years old.

I Agree...This is crazy the number of foul we see since the restart, including the scrimmage game ... It's embarrassing!

The refs are known egocentrics, they were probably running around the house training how to blow the whistle when the season restarts.

Wait so it’s not best of 3it’s out of 2? If I’m reading that right 8th seed Wins games 1 or 2 they advance or if the 9th seed win both games 1 and 2 they advance?

Or is it just best of three and I didn’t understand what you meant?

Edit - what if multiple teams finish within four games? Is it just bad luck to teams outside the 9th seed?

The fact there is no crowd, I think it is logical there is more calls. Refs can hear every slap and every fouled player's vocal reaction.

Probably more likely to get correct calls without crowd influence too.

I guess you're right. It's not really two out of three. It's either one win from the 8 seed or two straight wins from the 9 seed. So it can only go 2 games max. If more than one team is tied for 9th place I'm assuming they'll use tiebreakers like usual.

Not a best 2 out of 3. The 8th seed gets two chances to get eliminated, the 9th seed only one chance.

Only the 9th seed faces the 8th seed if within 4 games by the end of the 8 games. Teams 10, 11, 12 and 13 are all out.
