Re: Scout: Daniel Theis May Be Most Underrated Player in NBA
That's a scout that is speaking like he's on First Take in order to be published.
Flip the two player and consider what would happen to both teams. That alone tells you how much it's not a **** wash.
Cs would be all set for the future if they had Bam on their team.

Do you guys agree ?
With the scout you quoted calling the matchup a wash, it just shows that Bam is the one who is underrated, not Theis.

You realize the argument is whether DT is the most underrated NBA player.

His other weakness is his hands. They aren't terrible, but they aren't as great as you want in a big man. Or maybe I'm being too harsh on him, since the numbers don't really back up my eyes on that.

Unfortunately for us, I think he'll be a lot more expensive on his next contract.

You better put some respek on my boy Edrice's name. He's not getting sonned by some 6' 4" center from Estonia.

Top 25? Really?
Is that really a stretch? He made the all star team, was 18th in PIPM, 30th in RPM, 22nd in RAPTOR, 13th in VORP, 21st in BPM. 16/10/5 while also being elite defensively, I don’t think I could name 25 guys who were better this season. Just because he doesn’t score a ton doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a huge impact on the game.

I remember 4 years ago when I was very high on Ante Zizic, especially after some of the nice things David Blatt had to say about him and his excellent stats in the Adriatic League. Then I watched film of a game in Germany, and there was some no-name guy completely outplaying Zizic; blocking shots and just toying with him. I learned later that the guy was Theis and that the Celtics were bringing him over. Chalk up another excellent signing to Benas Matkevicius, the Celtics' one-man European scouting department.

Naw, until they stop allowing Voting into the allstar games, and they stop picking players based on team records, the term "allstar" carries no weight. imo.

Even without the fan vote, coaches and players voted him as an all star.

If not spend the time to read the OP. It's one sentence in reply to that quote.
For anyone who can read that is about as little effort as it takes.

Is it not the team coaches that pick the reserves?
And they are not allowed to pick from their own team?

No, it’s all 30 coaches who vote. Media voted him as an all star as well, but most of the media sucks lol.

Pretty sure I’m aware of the quote and the OP. The title of my post is clear for anyone who can read. For those with even the slightest ability, they would be able to conclude that my post is focused on whether or not DT is the most underrated NBA player.
I’m glad you feel that Bam is the better player, but if DT played for Miami, he might see a bit of an uptick in usage. Boston is far and beyond the better team. Miami relies heavily on Bam, and if he isn’t productive, their chances of winning drop drastically.

I’d take him over everyone on the bottom list easily, and over Ingram, Trae, Jaylen, Westbrook, Vuc, Siakam as well.
I just value the overall impact he brings over the scoring of other guys. Impact stats love him for the same reason. I’ll stop derailing the Theis thread now lol.

Re: Scout: Daniel Theis May Be Most Underrated Player in NBA
He's got to be underrated by me at least since I don't think he's all that special. He's more important to the team than some others simply because they lack any real talent behind him.
And yeah, Bam is so much better.
