Better look elsewhere because Bogdan isn't a 2 way guard. He's an average defender at best.

I see, for some reason i thought he played over Buddy because of defense

I’m guessing the Kings are asking for 1 of Hunter, Reddish or Huerter in the sign and trade or they match. Remember our GM is from Houston. They could easily play 3 guards in Fox Hield and Bogi.

Hawks have zero reason to give in to Kings demands. Just offer him $22M per and dare the Kings to match. They have the leverage of money and not needing the Kings to do anything but not match.

I have no idea what is going on with Kings media right now but they are killing you guys--they are telling you guys you have leverage you absolutely do not have.

This plus the Hawks could've just walk away feeling ok that they have a reasonable facsimile of Bogd in Heurter.

His qualifying offer is for ~$11M. He'd just take that instead, I think?

Lakers should rather have KCP and use Kuzma/McGee to trade for a backup SF defender

If ATL gets Bogdan with their cap space, that leaves Hayward and BOS up **** creek huh.

NYK is the only remaining team with major cap space, which is the only destination Hayward can goto to get a big deal short of re-signing with BOS. IND is in hot pursuit of Hayward but.... why should they overpay Hayward on his contract AND give up Myles Turner + McBuckets, without trying to extract a Ainge like ransom out of BOS. Either Hayward tries to re-sign with BOS (and why would Ainge bring him back at big money), IND doesnt give up much of value to get S&T Hayward, or perhaps NYK can worm their way in somehow to get some assets, via threat of just outright luring Hayward away from BOS/IND.

I wonder if there's a way NYK can finesse IND to give them Myles Turner, while only giving up minor assets + TPE to BOS. It's basically an ultimate screw over BOS move, but BOS can either get a TPE + minor assets, re-sign Hayward, or get nothing if NYK just decides to poach Hayward. If IND wants Hayward so bad, why would they care where Myles Turner and McBuckets goes.

So basically

IND trades
Myles Turner
Dougie McBuckets - might not have to trade him if NYK's cap space can create large enough TPEs

Receives
Hayward

BOS Sign & Trades
Hayward (4 yr 100m?)

Receives
Large ass TPE
Draft compensation and/or whatever they might be interested in NYK's roster

NYK trades
Cap space
Draft compensation and/or whatever players BOS is interested on their roster

Basically if Hayward wants to get paid its either NYK or re-signing with BOS. If Indy wants him, they gotta pony up players up to give Hayward the salary he desires. NYK can just **** everyone over by giving Hayward a 1/2 year near max deal. Or if Indy gives up and BOS doesnt want to re-sign Hayward cuz they'd rather have a non tax MLE... well Hayward is gonna get a smaller deal from NYK due to no market ;)

I don't think we can give up Mcgee. We technically only have him and Harrell as our centers and Harrell is obviously only works in certain situations.

What if Lakers can sign Marc Gasol and maybe Noel or Cousins for backup?
And Lakers still have AD don't forget.

Kings media has been silent. But Bogdan is a restricted free agent? Of course we can just match.

"Hey Atlanta, how bad do you want Bogdan? Well give us this player or pick and we won't match". Now it comes down to how bad Atlanta wants him, maybe they don't care enough to give anything up, or maybe they do. We will see.

We literally saw this same thing play out last year in Indiana. They gave Milwaukee a pick not to match..

Bogdan absolutely has a say in where he signs. The Kings have a lot of leverage, but they can’t send him somewhere without his approval. As a restricted free agent he basically has 3 options. He can try to work out a s&t, sign with another team (which the Kings could match) or just re-sign with the Kings.

Personally I'd rather just bring Bogdan back. We will have to see what management thinks about that

Then I’m guessing the Kings match.

I think if you are the Kings front office 2 things are true:

1) in the current environment cap space is of little value in terms of signing free agents.

2) allowing restricted free agents to easily walk with no compensation is a bad precedent to set. Especially for the Kings...

The Kings would be foolish to let Bogi walk with no compensation. Better to match, play a 3 guard line up, lose and get a good pick. Then maybe trade one of Bogi or Buddy next year.

Well, it would be the OKC faux-first AND the TPE.

This screws over Hayward, assuming Knicks don’t make a big money offer. It helps the Celtics big time though. Why would they agree to a S&T if it’s not on their terms, it’s not like Hayward can get more than the mle from anybody else now.
