This is Silas first HC job what do you expect him to do? This isn't remember the titans where Denzel goes to the captain and says who's your daddy?

there is not one single rookie coach that would fix this situation.

And this will be his last HC Job. He's a pushover coach as someone mentioned. Doesn't hold Wall or Oladipo accountable just because they are veterans. Much like his father will finish as a losing record coach. Like father like son they say. These are coaches the players will always have little respect for, and a team will never win anything substantial with.

The rockets should trade him. They are tanking at a level that make thunder fans envious.

This type of stuff is usually addressed in house. Wood’s #’s have never resulted in wins I’m not sure why people care if he’s unhappy.

To me he seems like a selfish teammate who only worries about his stats.

Your daily reminder that Oladipo is fool's gold and your favorite team should not trade for him

Wall should be spoon feeding this guy like his job depends on it.

John Wall wants out if Houston very badly and is trying to pad his stat line so someone will trade for him. The Rockets were probably willing to oblige him for the same reasons but it's not sustainable. I suspect he's coming off the bench before the end of the year.

Wood isn't exactly the best locker room guy himself... He reeks of Hassan Whiteside. He'll get stats but isn't much if a team player.

Say what you want about the Pistons record. But if you’ve watched us this year, most games are competitive and our young players are developing. Troy Weaver has found a bunch of gems. The only move so far that hasn’t panned out is Killian Hayes. And he’s only played 7 pro games, so it’s too early to write him off too. Troy basically gave Grant the money that Wood thought he’d get. Even guys like Plumlee and Delon Wright have looked good. Troy Weaver’s other rookies, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, and Saben Lee have looked great. And forgotten players like Josh Jackson and Dennis Smith Jr have had their moments and you can still see some potential.

I think Dwane Casey has done a great job developing. I’m saying all this because Weaver was bashed by everyone including most Pistons fans for not trying hard enough to retain Wood.

Wood reeks of selfishness. And I do believe Troy Weaver was trying to build a team that played his way. He also added Hamidou Diallo that I have always been a big fan of.

With Jerami Grant alone, I think Weaver knew what he was doing. Wood is a talented player, but he’s still immature.

Wood should have kept his mouth shut, but he’s right.

There’s a reason John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins are good friends. No one else likes either one of those a-holes.

You know I really was scratching my head wondering why the wizards were willing to give up a 1st to get off of Wall's deal and thinking was it that bad? The good part for the Wizards is that the pick pro. is as follows: top 14 pro. in 23, top 12 pro. in 24, top 10 pro. in 25 and top 8 pro. in 26. If it doesn't convey it becomes 2 2nds in 26+27.

Apparently Ernie Grunfeld gave Wall that contract extension 2 years before the 5 year max he signed in 2013 was set to exp. when he played 78 games and averaged 23.7pts/10.7asts/4rbs/2stls a game that year. Then he plays only 73 games the next 2 years and missed all of last year. Boy did that move backfire on them. And it didn't help that there was apparent friction between Wall and Beal. I'll forever scratch my head at how Leonsis allowed Grunfeld to stay at the helm and let Otto Porter Jr. go for cap relief when other teams were willing to offer better packages centred around matching salary+prospects+picks. To me, Wall's deal ended up being Gilbert Arenas 2.0 minus Gil going loco and bringing guns into the building.

The only team I could've seen who would've been willing to eat Wall's deal would've been OKC but Presti understandingly would've demanded the Rockets remove protections on all outgoing swaps+picks to eat Wall's deal as they had the contracts+matching salary to make it work. Obviously you wouldn't do that if you were the Rockets.

They are really screwed as they are praying that John Wall deludes himself into thinking he's better than he actually is and opts out of 47M to test FA(dumb move to do so but anything's possible).

I'm happy to see it. It means he cares and he and KPJ are the only players they should build around. Everyone else should be traded. Everyone will be if they can be. Depending on how successful they are doing this and using their draft picks, it could be a relatively fast rebuild for them. What they absolutely cannot allow is for selfish players like Wall and Oladipo (in this case I can't blame them all that much) to stay and get in the way of the culture I'm sure they're trying to build going forward. Trade them even if the return isn't good. At all costs.

I was gutted by the trade, but I've come around on this deal, the Wizards made out like bandits.

Not only is Westbrook the better player, he's actually on the court.

Assuming he makes it through the season, Wall will have yet another offseason recuperating from knee surgery and rehabbing.

That'll make 2014 the last time he hasn't had to deal with recovery from injury.

Wall and Westbrook both suck and have nearly identical contracts. The only possible party to have won a trade swapping the two is the one who got a first round pick.

So because he's angry at a fill-in veteran who won't be here in the long-term, that's reason to panic?

Wall is on the court too?

Also, this post conveniently leaves out the fact the Wiz gave up a 1st round pick, Westbrook turns 33 this year, and the team is terrible as well. But yes, other than that, they definitely made out like bandits.

Wood hate is unreal. Dude had Houston winning. He got injured and the team fell to ****. Even he can't fix this team, but he's not the issue.

Wood didn't really have any character issues in Detroit but there was rumors of them before he came to us (and often listed as the chief reason why he was cut from so many teams).

Still, he does kind of have a point here. The ball is better in his hands than Wall's at the respective stages of their careers.

Rockets are imploding and need to overhaul the roster by the deadline.

He’ll be even less happy when he realizes he’ll be underpaid for the next 2-3 seasons while Houston more than likely signs some bum to a massive long-term contract.
