Terrible video, but that’s Kerr. He’s even old. All NBA players can dunk, sans the insurance salesmen that Wilt and Russell played against.

That's funny, assuming that's a legit rim,I guess he was joking when he said this multiple times over the years:

He dunks quite easily though..

I'm going with every NBA player could dunk.

Earl Boykins might be the only possible answer.

I read an interview back then where Boykins said he could dunk, just never tried in a game because he did not want to fail. Muggsy could also dunk. So it leaves us with no other short options, but Spud Webb, or Nate Robinson... :O :)

I’d assume he’s referring to in-game dunking, which is completely different and much more difficult.

Am I the only one who thinks Campazzo's dunks look like a Kobe Bryant fadeaway jumper? He always kicks one leg out and falls away from the basket.

I'd say Jim Les
Gordon Haywood, Dwayne Wade, JJ Reddick, Derek Rose, Derrick Fisher, Lenny Wilkins, Kirk Heinrich, Oscar Robinson, DeMar DeRozen, Andre Iguadola, Pascal Siakim, Malcolm Brogdan

I knew plenty of high school ballers who were 6'5 who couldn't dunk, so I'm guessing there have been a few.

I would be willing to say any NBA player who was AT LEAST 5'10" could probably dunk. Maybe not in a game, but just messing around.

Going off that criteria, the last player I know that was under 5'10" was Boykins, who played up til 2012.

But there's a guy...Kay Felder...I have no idea who he is but he played in 2018. So probably that guy.

Damn, I stand corrected.

Kay Felder dunk compilation -

And Boykins could dunk, too.

Just goes to show what crazy athletes NBA players are. So we back to Muggsy again.

I don’t think Muggsy could dunk. I remember reading a Sports Illustrated interview where he said it was one dream he had, because he couldn’t.

Yeah in game dunking is a WHOLE other story. I played with guys who could dunk somewhat easily just messing around but never could pull it off in an actual game...even a pick up game.

It's way more mental than people realize.

Little bit of self bragging here but I'm 6'2" and had a respectable 36" vert in my prime and while I wasn't doing 360s or windmills, I used to dunk in game all the time. Even put some people on posters. Man...if only camera phones were around back in my day...hell...youtube didn't even exist. lol

I don't think it'd necessarily be a short guy, but rather a guy who's knees are so completely busted that he simply refuses to even do it in practice because it'd hurt too much to even try.

Nate505 wrote:I'm sure Stockton could dunk, but I don't think he ever did in an NBA game. I sorta remember a teammate of his who says he dunked in practice before and asked Stockton why he wouldn't dunk in a game, and Stockton told him that a layup was just a higher percentage shot. Which does sound like something he'd say, but I don't know for sure if that's true.

Stockton could dunk.

Especially at the NBA level, in game dunking for smaller guys is about opportunity, sometimes it's not worth the energy if you're a 6'0 type person like I am. Layups count just as much and less likelihood of missing off the rim or something.

Also I feel you on the footage. A friend has a grainy flip phone video of me doing a two handed windmill. In game I've pulled off 360, windmill in transition and reverse pump in terms of more special dunks, some posters too.

I've mostly limited dunking now due to the pain of taking off and landing, it's not the same in your 30's as in your late teens and 20's, but I don't even have footage to brag to my kids with when they get older. At least their mom can verify it for me lol
