What would make this truly epic is rivalry between Jokic and Embiid and if they would go head to head often and in the playoffs. Shame they are not in the same conference.

A finals clash between them would be great to watch.

Only problem I have is that Embiid and Jokic both won’t make all nba 1st team.

It would be cool to see Embiid, Jokic, KD, Curry and Giannis be your 1st team all nba team

I agree with the poster above saying Giannis is not a big. Lamar Odom was a similar size and did similar things and he was a “point forward”

This is not some golden era for bigs. Only really Embiid, Jokic, and AD are superstars. Back 10+ years ago we had Griffin, Amare, Z-Bo, Duncan, Garnett, Gasol(s), Dirk, Aldridge, Bosh, Boozer etc are all-Star caliber post men.

Unless Embiid/Jokic wins a championship, or we get another Shaq like player, I continue to see the big position get watered down

Duncan was #4 in 2007.

If you consider Giannis a big, I think the three best players in the league right now are bigs (Jokic and Embiid).

The sad part is going to be how people say you can't build around a big today because Joker/Embiid are going to not win a title, and some team with like 3-4 all stars is going to go on to win.

Despite the league being ruled by the 3pt shot, superstar bigs are still the most valuable and dominate players. We've had a lull in recent years, but this is a great era for bigs. The 3pt shot has opened up more space inside for them.

I'd also like to highlight that all 3 of them are foreign. How many times have, debatably, 3 of the top 5 players been foreign? Probably never.

Depends on if you consider Duncan...cause then you had him and Dirk way up there with Nash in the mid 00's and you could even make some level of case that a lot of Kobe's development was outside the US.

Is it really unreal when it's just 3 players? I mean I can name 3 players from the 60's or the 90's. Especially if you increase the pool to PFs which Giannis is.

Giannis and Jokic are putting up stat lines that would rank them among the best 10 players of all time. They're not just special they're other wordly special and Embiid in most seasons would be a pretty clear MVP front runner...and right now Vegas still has the struggling Curry has the favorite for MVP just to illustrate how crazy what we're seeing is.

I refuse to label a guy who's bringing the ball up court so regularly, as a big.
Jokic and Embiid are true bigs. Giannis isn't.

Duncan brought the ball up all the dang time and Jokic does it plenty himself.

It's really amazing how these guys have ran past AD. He used to be the gold standard, now I don't think anyone would take him over any of them.

Boozer would be a bench player in today's NBA. Couldn't play defense, midrange jumpers and PnRs only. And I'll be that Jazz fan: only players on your list I take over Gobert are Duncan, Garnett, and Dirk - with the Gasols being even with him (meaning I'd take one of them depending on roster composition).
