And Dirk had far longer and far more productive one.

Arvydas was best CCCP player of all time since he was 18 years old probably, and he was beast in Europe at age 41. he had 25 year carrer at pro level. Its really a shame he was injury prone and didnt join Blazers in 86, and even tho his legend is overrated, he was ridiculous international player at least still, as a person, who saw pretty much every Domantas SAbonis Lithuanian national team game at this point, his father was so much better at that, its lightyears landslide, not even close, and Domantas is 6'10 old school 2 time NBA all star. Its really a shame Arvydas was stuck in Spain and Lithuania with nothing less to prove, dominating chumps, as I said, man if he joined that 86 Blazers, we would have talked about them as a dynasty. Blazers is cursed team, seriously.

Arvydas is the reason every other Lithuanian player wears number 11, just like Jordan is the reason why every American kid wants to wear 23, or every Croatian kid wanting to wear 44, his what if legend might be overrated, but he was legit.

Arvydas got ran into the ground by his basketball team in LIthuania. They rushed him back from injury multiple times, and would push him to continue to play even when more time for recovery would be beneficial.

He might have had an injury prone career either way, but they sure as **** didn't care about his health long term just if he could play that night.

That being said, he's not in the same universe with his father.
Arvydas is the greatest euro of all time imo and it isn't particularly close.

Dirk was great, but I think Arvydas was the most talented player ever, period. Not successful, but talented.

You do know that Arvydas had a career before the NBA, right?
Do you know Saboniw career becore the NBA, actually?

If Shaq hadn't signed with the Lakers, Arvydas would have an NBA championship too.

If Domantas leads Lithuania to some international success, then maybe. The hall of fame does appreciate international play. But probably not at his current rate if all of his accolades are just his NBA success.

I definitely do, and what I keep saying to everybody is that Sabonis was either too young, injured, or too old to be the player people are talking about.
That mid to late twenties guy with a similar mobility of his teenage self, a more mature body and game and the smarts he showed in the NBA never existed, his peak was likely at the end of his time in Spain or the beginning of his NBA stint.
He might have been one of the greatest prospects ever, but he was never close to be that player.

Do you have a citation? I'm aware that he sometimes played then he shouldn't have played, but always assumed it was because he insisted

I’d put both Manu Ginobili and AK47 ahead of Domantis Sobonis.

That's all well and good (and stuff), but let's not forget that Ginobili isn't European.

All this talk of greatest European ever, Drazen Petrovic deserves to be mentioned. Sadly, his life was cut short, but this guy was great.
