They have the best SRS in the conference right now, too. Like I said, I do think they are being overhyped some, but they have also been playing great basketball for the last two months.

Their starting lineup of Smart/Brown/Tatum/Horford/Williams also has one of the best net ratings in the league this season.

It's crazy how much this team gets talked about for not doing a whole lot this year. Reading power rankings this week and some are putting them at 4th in the league. I get they acquired a couple of players at the deadline but come on 4th???Reading bleacher just now and they ranked them as having the best trio trio in the league and it's their top story. A week ago the Raps had a longer winning streak (8 games) yet I couldn't find a single story, even a side story on any website, yet the celtics' winning streak, which was shorter at the time, was a main story on most sites.
I get the whole big market thing and no this isn't me, a Raps fan being bitter about it as we're used to getting ignored by the media.
Is it me or are reporters obsessed with overhyping them because of their history or are there just a lot of reporters from the Boston area?

Interesting, I can't seem to remeber seeing your post a few months ago entitled "The media is funny with their Celtics' hate". Did you find it strange that there were daily posts about how the Celtics were a horrible team? Did it bother you when every other article was about the need to trade Brown or Tatum? Were you feeling slighted because your team wasn't getting as many hate posts as Boston was?
Like it or not Boston is a very polarizing team (especially for the media). When they play bad it leads to a field day of negative publicity (something that only teams like the Lakers or NY teams can match), and when they start playing well, the same amount of over-reactionary threads can be seen singing their praises.
The fact that your team doesn't get that kind of media attention says nothing about your team (or the other teams that also don't get so much spotlight). It simply means that the media chooses certain teams (market size, history, prestige...) to push more stories about.
Let me ask you, does it bother you that the mediocre Lakers are still the most popular story in the news? Do they deserve that kind of attention? Should anyone really care if a bunch of over-the-hill former stars aren't playing great ball?
Of course they don't, but the media will keep on pushing story after story about them because it's what people want to read. Certain teams generate more interst than others - deserved or not.

They also kept two of the best offenses in the league to under a point per possession and blew out a Philly team that was playing well by 50. I dont care who you play in this league, consistent 30 point blowouts are impressive.

To the OP - The C's are much better than their season began but for sure we're getting a little of the flavor of the week treatment. However the advanced stats do love them. I do love how the Raptors play ball and feel like they probably deserve a little more credit too, I've got a soft spot for overachieving teams.

You complaining about Raptors winning 8 in a row with little media fare is about half as valid as Suns winning 18 in a row and the main chat in the media was Warriors and Lakers.
