Smart people aren't breeding as quick as stupid people, so the stupid are gaining a larger majority by the day. As a consequence, language has been changing.

It means 'fixing to', a term virtually no one ever used anyway. So obviously when you see it shoe-horned into thread titles it's just some young person trying to sound cool by using the new buzz word they recently learned.

I have no problem with them putting it on twitter or something, but this is a forum, a proper old school internet forum.... we speaks the English.

It's been used extensively in the south. It's the equivalent of "going to", which only makes sense if you consider the intended state as a location. In this case, "fixing" can be thought of as preparing oneself or alternatively aiming at the goal. "Going to" becomes gonna, which I'm sure you've used extensively in your life.

Any other old people diatribes? Are you against contractions as well?

I can already envision your Twitter timeline if you're talking about smart people not breeding. You also have no idea how language works.

Not to take anything away from Lebron who had a great game.

This 1 game, your team is still 28/35, if it were not for the play in tournament, you would be 6 games from making the playoffs.

So dont act all supprised if you will get some heat back if things go south.

"Not to take anything away from Lebron... But let me take away from Lebron."

Not sure why you had to post something negative. Hate threads exist because of haters.

A 37yo shouldn't be leading a team all season. The plan was for Lebron to become a #2 to AD.

Warriors are 2-8 in their past 10 games. They are a bad team.

Not surprised LeBron dominated them.

it's amazing how good of a scorer Lebron is at this age. you would think it's his scoring that would go down, and he'd become more of a playmaker, but because the Lakers rarely run anything, he's had far less of those brilliant zip passes this year. instead he's just gone full early 30's Kobe. It's been a joy to watch as a Kobe fan because at this stage he has about the same athleticism as that version of Kobe, but with the added strength inside at 6 9.

I've actually never enjoyed watching him play more than his Lakers stint. Part of that is because he's on my team, but mostly it's because he's far more skilled now and is forced to be more cerebral. On some nights he looks like he's just truly mastered all of basketball.

it's a southern version of "gonna", which comes from "going to". finna comes from "fixing to"

Kobe dropped 60 at 37. So not really sure why you immediately say someone's favorite player was not and will not be dropping 56 at 37 definitively.

It was certainly a great game by LeBron, but it's not the untouchable 'never gonna happen for anyone else or happened before' that you seem to appear to want to project it as.

Why does no one in this thread seem to have any memory of the finna threads from about a year ago? It was a running joke for a while, I assume that’s what the OP is referencing.

Whenever the word finna is used in a tread it typically doesn't end well because there is always a Karen, who's occupation is an grammar Nazi English teacher, yelling at the clouds, lol.

And I wonder is it the same poster who always creates these finna treads.

No i was not taking anything from Lebron.

This was directed to those who are now gloating because of 1 game. This board was over run by threads like this or attacking Jordan/kobe/whoever to prop lebron up. like a comment earlier in this very thread, “lebron is the oldest player to score 55+ in a real game”

And Lebron picked Ad guess what injury prone player is gonna be injury prone. He made his bed.

Kobe’s 60 and Lebrons game last night are on two completely different planets. Kobe’s game was a sideshow. He took 50 shots, a career high, more than he even took to get 81. it was essentially just a retirement party with him chucking to a comical degree. Lebron scoring 56 on 19 fewer shot attempts is infinitely more impressive. Never mind the season as a whole

A lot of guys of all ages can score 60 if they have the green light to shoot 50 times. Let me repeat that. 50 shot attempts. Just so we are straight here, he shot 50 times. He took 50 shots. 21 threes. 12 ft.

Kobe’s performance was an embarrassing 60 points on 50 shots on a 17-win team vs. Jazz team that played all star game defense in the final game of the season.

It was so bad, the Utah bench was cheering him on at the end.

Beating the warriors the last week is hardly an amazing feat. They are 2-8 in their last ten through this stretch.

Why would anyone really care. They are still in 9th and playing badly.
