It's really dumb how long they wait to present these awards though. He should have been able to hoist that MVP trophy in front of Denver

Is there any explanation as to why they do it that way? I never understood this. The voting is over before the first round begins and the NBA knows who the MVP is within 10 seconds or so.

As a Dirk fan I hated it when he got his. It should have been a great day for him and the fans in Dallas and instead the atmosphere at the ceremony was like a funeral.
