You don’t come back from this loss by running it back. That’s a franchise killing loss if I’ve ever seen one.

You are wrong. Imagine if Mavs blew the team up after the we believe series. The franchise will end up like Clippers.

Probably annoyed at lack of effort he cost himself some money I think

Not at all. Any team in desperate need of a center is gonna pay him big money. And he’s still very young. Suns letting him go will be a franchise killing mistake.

How many such teams are there?

No lie, your Raptors would go after Ayton in a heartbeat.

That series wasn’t a franchise killing loss. Embarrassing sure, but nothing like this.

This is probably one of the biggest reasons why the Suns and Booker played atrociously...

It'd throw anyone off their game just witnessing this disaster unfolding before you.

Doubt it. He’s not really the kinda player Masai likes. Also we’ve kinda gone all in on having no traditional center

If we ever did want to go after a center, it would be a defensive one. Not Ayton

Get some players that rather play a good game than talk a good game.

Are you sure? We had 67 wins. We lost the final the year before after a 2-0 lead. And Dirk was regular season mvp. Then lost to the 8th seed.

Which was more devastating? I remember I couldn’t go to work the next day after the elimination.

Off the top of my head:
- Clippers blowing a 3-1 series lead, and blowing every single lead after that.
- Sonics blowing a 2-0 series lead against a young 8th seed Nuggets team in 94 (showing my age I know)
- Knicks blowing a 6 point lead in 3 seconds to Reggie Miller.
- Now, this.

AussieCeltic wrote:They need to sign Ayton. I think I rate Ayton pretty high compared to most around here. The guy is only 23 and big men usually take a big longer to mature. I also think the Suns didn't feature him enough in their offense. We saw what he could do when Booker went down and they went to a more traditional pick and roll offense with CP3 and Ayton.

Suns really screwed up drafting Jalen Smith over Haliburton. Then trading Jalen Smith and now thinking about letting Ayton walk. It just doesn't make sense.

they need to blow up. ayton is a great player but its tough to make up for prime of cp3. they are like better version of sixers a treadmill team. masai would have traded booker for his kawhi. rebuild isnt wrong but retool is correct answer.

its better they lost now if they lost in finals we would have been seen posts saying booker needs more help which is bs. jones has better picture of his real state of team.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

I still think something is wrong internally. This play has been going on since March.
I think they will work to add a legit scoring guard to take pressure off Booker and Paul.
Payne regressed which really hurt. Fortunately, they don't have too many bad contracts. The worst are only about 2 years long and at or under 11mil per.
Offseason will be active

Surprising. And how bad they lost.

Phoenix is missing that wing with above-average physical tools to overwhelm defenses enough... Devin Booker is still really good, but I don't think he's truly at the top half of tier-1 wings, and may never be.

They should of went out and got someone after they lost to the Bucks. Even if the wing wasn't at the size of a SF, someone who has some good athleticism and/or size, and makes an impact that gives teams problems on a nightly basis.

Lost to the Bucks last season -- Giannis isn't truly a wing, but plays like one over the course of the game. Khris Middleton. Enough said.

Clippers had two of those guys last year in kawhi/PG, and would of beat them, and is why Dallas lost to them twice over the last two years..

Phoenix doesn't have anyone close to them, in terms of wings with good size. Devin Booker is undersized for an SG, and isn't an above-average athlete.

If Mikal Bridges was an all-star-level or better offensive scorer/creator, then they'd have that guy at the minimum requirement to collectively match Luke with Bridges + Booker.

Phoenix reminds of me how Portland has been in terms of their main top rotiation group, and how they don't have that big wing to compete with the other teams that do.

I think CP3 sticks around, and they try to bolster their talent at SF/PF/SG.

People are being hard on Phoenix. This is a young team and their HOF point guard fell apart halfway through a series.

Fact is they're just not built to survive CP3 being this bad & if they're gonna compete next year it's gonna take some Phoenix medical staff voodoo to save his career.

After this performance ANYONE that gives Ayton a new contract is a **** idiot.

My response is a resounding no thank you. Trade him on draft day and get a decent pick.
