Las Vegas about to pick up a ton of easy home wins.
Definitely dilutes talent but also gives 30+ guys nba jobs and 10 guys coaching gigs and the Pacific Northwest another squad
The pool for talent is so much bigger now than even 20 years ago when it was mainly just American players in the league. An American born player actually hasn't won the MVP award since Harden in 2018. Luka Doncic is probably going to be the #1 candidate for that award next year barring injury.
The talent pool is literally the whole world now.

I was thinking more like 4 division of 8 teams each. Then you get a NCAA-style tournament with North, South, East, and West.

FWIW: Last summer Kurt Helin told us it was a done deal and would be voted on summer of '22.

I thought about that but it feels like that would be too large for a division. NFL does 8 divisions of 4 and it’s worked

Re: Rumor: NBA Expected to Announce Expansion Teams in Seattle and Las Vegas
Seattle's the one team I could ever drop the Warriors for.. my hometown team
Actually have an old school Durant Sonics jersey.. man I was thrilled when they got him. Back then the Warriors had the broken remains of WE BELIEVE and I was pumped that one of my teams had a future superstar. Then Bennett breaks my heart the following season.. then the W's got Curry and I kinda let it go for a while.
I guess what I'm trying to say is
Clay Bennett and go Sonics

Luka Doncic? Is that some new version of Detlef Schrempf or something?

I was responding to the post about dilution of talent. My point is the player pool is massive these days as opposed to how it was in the 90s and prior, talent isn't only based on American grown players anymore but the whole planet and that is very evident these days by the top MVP candidates and winners.

They're banking on way more TV revenues.
But then they'd have to split it into smaller shares for each team.
So the franchise fee should be like $3 billion.

I said it gives 30 more guys a job...if there are 30 guys better than the 30 guys CURRENTLY in the NBA, those guys ARE in the nba...
NBA scouting is freaking undefeated- 100% of the guys that can be MVPs are in the nba or nba pipeline regardless of expansion
Good job with the Luka tho

Put the team in Belltown or in the ID and not in Bellevue pleaseeeee
the team will be at climate pledge arena...they already built out the nba offices/locker rooms for it.
How good were the renovations at that place? I know at one point the NBA considered that arena unsalvageable.
The team will play at Seattle Center.

So, are they going for realignment? Move Memphis and NO out east?

Re: Rumor: NBA Expected to Announce Expansion Teams in Seattle and Las Vegas
I'd love to see 4x8 divisions for I could see a western division with Portland, Seattle, Vegas, Phoenix
with the 4 California teams as NZB describes.
Memphis and Minnesota will be the teams that will move to the East.
Going to be some large changes in the sports lineups after the Paul Allen estate sells Portland. It'll be
interesting to see who buys the Blazers
