So your take is Golden State is going to win 4 out of 5? Good luck

You won game 1, congrats but you think Boston's beating us 4 times in 7 games?

No. Boston is beating you 4 times in 5 or 6 games. They are by far the better team.

This is why I picked the Celtics to win this. Celts have a lot of weapons unlike the Mavs who are a one man team. Even Horford and Robert Williams can give you something. Celtics in 7.

Are you seriously pretending Celtics role players didn’t also shoot 17/26 on 3’s? At one point, they were 9/11 from 3 during the 4th quarter.

Tatum could have has the worst game of his career with that kind of 3 point shooting and Celtics still would have likely won.

Are we pretending that Curry didn't set a Finals record for 3's in the first quarter?

It all balances out. The Celtics played a poor game and won by double digits.

It’s only one game. I don’t know why some people declare it over after game 1. Im confident we can win the series, but you’re crazy to think Warriors won’t bounce back.

Curry (greatest 3 point shooter of all time) balanced out within the same game and he’s 1 player. You’re really comparing him alone to to 17-26 3 point shooting from Celtics’ role players? He was also sitting when Celtics made their initial 4th quarter run.

Celtics 3 point shooting this post season:

In order:

12-33
11-31
12-39
14-35

18-50
20-43
9-33
14-37
10-31
17-43
22-55

11-34
20-40
12-32
8-34
10-33
11-33
11-32

21-41

21-41 from 3 is a poor game? What? Tatum shot horrid. Brown was alright overall but hot in 4th. Rest of the team mostly shot lights out and had historic 4th quarter 3 point shooting.

Celtics have shot like that from 3 2 times out of 19 post season games.

Golden state had 108 points, 16 in the 4th quarter. Boston doesn't need to shoot 17/26 from 3's if the GS offense is going to resemble anything like the 4th quarter going forward.

Boston shot well from 3. They were HORRIBLE defensively in the first half and their 3 point shooting bailed them out. I have no idea who though drop coverage on Steph was a good idea but they cleaned it up in the second half. When Boston started going full switch defense the Warriors offense collapsed. There are a lot of mistakes they can clean up. They didn't play a good game outside the shooting.

With Warriors' defense, GSW would be lucky if this reaches game 6.

I really want Celtics to win. As a kid I admired a lot Bird.
I have nothing versus GSW at all (I like almost everyone in their team) but I cannot stand Draymond. I would love to see them lose only for him.

And?

Warriors in game 1 were 19-45… the only time they hit more 3’s this postseason was game 6 against the Grizz where they were 20-53.

Both teams have been nearly identical from 3 these playoffs.

Boston - 13.8/37.3 = 37.1%
GS - 13.8/36.2 = 38.2%

Both teams shot above their percentage today. Boston hit 2 more 3’s on 4 less shots. That wasn’t the difference though. It was the fact the Warriors scored 4 points in a 6 minute span in the 4th.

I still think this goes 6 or 7, but the Celtics' size really does pose problems for the Warriors. The Boston wings and guards are just walking mismatches; Jaylen eviscerated Poole in the 4th, White and Smart harrassed Curry for the last three quarters, and Tatum won't be shooting like that often. Poole might not be playable in this series because Brown and Tatum are just gonna hunt him every time, and Klay looks a step slow. I think his first step is gone.

Still, I expect the Warriors to take Game 2. Wouldn't be surprised if the Celtics win again though, they're just a different animal on the road.

And gotta love the arrogance of some Warriors fans here. Keep em coming.

Wide open shots

If GS wants celtics guys to jot shoot lights out they need to defend them.

Nba players, in rhythm, shoot crazy hugh percentages when the closest defender is 8 feet away.

Yeah, outside of the 4th quarter, the Celtics played below their standards. They were subpar on defense for most of the night (drop coverage on Curry?? Steph Curry????) until they turned it on in the 4th. And their offense on the 3rd was bad, they kept settling for threes.

I'm really surprised they won this game. Blame should go to Kerr for icing Curry in the 2nd and start of the 4th, and for trotting out two non-shooters in Iggy and Draymond in the final frame.
