It’s a kid and his hero worship. Let him be.

Too bad for us lakers fans, he plays for the Celtics. Wish we had someone young in the lineup with that mentality

I just thought it was corny that ESPN got the story of it. Why send the text and have to tell everyone? Kind of weird attention behavior.

When they asked Kobe why the Lakers drafted Zo instead of Tatum, Kobe replied I don’t know

It's sweet in an immature kind of way. Like he's still 14.

The text message post was a bit on the corny, cringe side.. but I like the purple arm band and practice attire moves. Those were cool.

Just sign with the Lakers already, Jayson! You know you'd look great in the purple and gold too. :D

Corny as hell that he'd post it.

But Kobe was super corny too so whatever I guess.

I can accept a small armband. I put it in the same mental category as I do weirdly colored shoes.

Nah I don’t think it’s corny at all, Kobe was awesome.

Tatum learned under Kobe and looked up to him as a role model. If this is what's fueling him to win a championship, then there's nothing corny at all. You're reaching if you think he's trying to be called the next Kobe.

It is over the top. Borderline weird at this point.

It's fine, but why does he have to share on Instagram that he sent Kobe a text?

I mean why share it to the public? You really want to honor Kobe or are you just doing it for attention/clout? Bit of weirdo tbh.

Actually Tatum's career does resemble Kobe in that Kobe took consideration as the best from people. Kobe didn't start out very early looking like he would be the best player in the NBA at any point. It took years.

hes a kobe wannabe. kind of cringe he shared it. why not even demand a trade to lakers if he idolizes so much?

Y’all that don’t get why Tatum posted this don’t have kids or have been around any...especially AAU basketball kids (I assume girls and other youngins are like this too)....

So if you don’t take pics for the gram of your workout, food, coffee, view right now, yoga mat, quote about your spiritual awakening, “haters”, or what your cat just did...you will not understand....we live in the “share it or it didn’t happen era”....also known as “pics or it didn’t happen”

- empty text thread
- texting a dead man
- showing the entire world
- probably a media blitz for the bryant family
- after a game 1 win

its definitely corny AF at the moment. if he revealed it at end of series win, much better. definitely chasing clout if he posts to social media.

You know what's corny? Being up some kid's ass with a microscope over every stupid social media post. wgaf? He's young, social media is social media. I'm past middle age and think it's all kind of stupid but that's just me being a cliche.
