The title stretches the word "report" until it's unrecognizable.

If he's looking to win it's one thing, if he's looking to get a big paycheck it's another though, depends on what he expects at this point

he wants both?

Don't think he's getting both

I don't think Draymond is the guy that is going to come in and play 110% and rally the troops on a rebuilding team. If he bought all in, he's the guy you want doing it though, especially given that franchise's history and identity, and his ties to the state.

The situation in GS was different, everyone knew that was a regroup/recover year. Not to suggest money isn't a factor but representing Michigan is very important to Draymond and I don't think he'd go there with the intent of embarrassing himself in money grab sort of way. I've certainly been wrong before, but I think we'd see a different version of him in that regard.

Great FIT tbh.

They’re young core of Cunningham, Ivey, Duran will evolve to be quite good imo, Draymond gives them a perfect leader and distributor to help the offence keep moving.

Draymond is only willing to leave the Warriors if Detroit gives him at least the near Max... which would be a Pistons move. Please do it.

This "report" is talking about next summer which is a long way off, so many things can happen by then. Then the Pistons would have to entice him to turn down his $27.5M PO with a more lucrative, longer term contract. Does that sound remotely feasible to anyone?

We have already seen how "good" of a mentor Draymond was with the GSW young player squad when Curry and Thompson were injuired.

Hard to be a good mentor when your student is a moron.

Sorry, Wiseman fans. I do hope he figures it out this year. Certainly had plenty of time to watch film.

Sounds like a leverage play to get the Warriors to pay up more. Feel sorry for the team that has to pay his next contract for 5PPG 4RPG 3APG lol

If Dray wants to go to Detroit so much he should take a paycut, but chances are this leak is a negotiation tactic so he can get more money. If Detroit pays max for this dude it's going to turn out poorly just like Wade's "homecoming" to Chicago.

As a Warriors fan, this is something I've always envisioned eventually happening. Draymond already won titles, got on All-Star teams, All-defensive teams, gold medals and a DPOY, would be nice for him to play for his hometown when it's all said and done. Dray is actually the perfect type of player to be a mentor as he declines because it's not like he was a superstar scorer to begin with. His value is more for his IQ, leadership and vocal presence.

Also, if Steph were to leave GSW I see him doing the same and playing a season or two with the Hornets.

Having been a Warriors fan for long time, and a good memory, Draymond's negotiation tactics have always been ask for the moon, but re-signs w/ the Warriors.

For his first contract, he asked for the max and also suggested potentially leaving. He ended up signing for $80m/5, getting the 5th year but also slightly less than the full 5 year max at the time.

Then his extension for ~$100M/4 also came as a surprise, as there was an reports/rumors were that that he would ask for a lot of $. Many fans were surprised that he extended for only $100M/4. To Draymond, he got a PO.

Now he is asking for an opt-out then 4 year ~$130M extension. He knows that he will be 33-34 yo for the 23-24 season. In fact, no 33-34 yo semi-decent-player got a 4 year deal the last 2 summers (except CP3 w/ a 4th year at a low guarantee amount). I think he's just bluffing / letting Klutch spread rumors, so he can get a few more bucks from the Warriors.

Hey, if the Pistons offer him $150M/4 in 2023 summer, he'll bolt for sure. But who will offer that to a 33-34 yo Draymond?

If you are talking about those Lowry/DeRozan contracts ~$80M/3, the Warriors will pay that if pushed. The Warriors already already have a PO of ~$28M for 23-24.

Not surprising really, next year we will be looking to spend our cap finally while these guys have some rookie contracts left.

I just hope some our youth take big steps this year to make signing a expensive older vet move the needle.

He was even mentioning coming here as a 2nd alternative back when he signed his last contract as well if i remember correctly.
