It's more about the media. A lot of ex-athletes and current athletes absolutely hate the media. Some for the way they felt they were treated, criticized, or like the majority of them feel they were never given their proper credit. So with this modern era with social media and now podcasts and also the cult like following and echo chamber anyone who is semi-famous can gain from social media, they feel this is them striking back for years of tolerating the media and the media getting their comeuppance.

Welp, that's a great plan for Gilbert. In the old days, only 5% of NBA fans would have known he was a **** moron. Now, 90% of NBA fans can know he's a **** moron.
