I think the only game I watched of Germany was the one against Slovenia when they couldn't hit a single jumpshot the whole game. They have Curry's range tonight.

Edit: Despite my disappointment, this is not a dark day for Finnish basketball. If anything, it should be a joyous day. A top 8 finish is the best that Finland has had ever since 1967. This tournament was definitely a success for Finland and the team has a bright future ahead.
It's quite bitter sweet with Koponen and Huff retiring, but at the same time I think the young core is pretty solid and should be in good position at Eurobasket 2025 (with Finland already qualifying as a co-host :D).

3 years from now Markkanen will be 28 and be surrounder by Little (21), Maxhuni (24), Jantunen (25), Valtonen (26), Nkamhoua (25), Kantonen (28), Madsen (30) and hopefully still Salin (34), so this core will be pretty much peaking.

I agree. It is bittersweet indeed because it was the efforts of Huff's and Koponen's generation that boosted basketball's popularity in Finland (and let's not forget Hanno Möttölä and the indomitable Tuukka Kotti). It would be awesome to see them fight for a medal. Alas, we'll have to wait.

By the way, isn't Maxhuni 24 right now? That's what the official FIBA site says :P

Jesus, the refs this Tournament are absolutely abysmal. They are all on Scott Foster level

Yeah very poor quality. The only bad thing of this eurobasket. Everything else(games, arenas, fans etc) is great.

We are down by +25 points without Giannis presense easily. Germany will break fiba's 3p record tonight.

Yeah poor Lauri, I felt bad for him in the second half,he was great, getting fouled, doubled like he was Shaq or something and his teammates kept giving up silly turnovers. More like they couldn't handle the defensive pressure Spain showed in second half.

Spain is very flawed, a team with better bigs than Wily Hernandgomez or a better star than Lauri will destroy them. Finland bigs is so small, skinny and couldn't stop anyone inside.

Finlands key players were mostly young, so having more turnovers than Spain was expected, but 19 was too much to handle. Little bit more experience will do wonders to finnish team. Finland was missing one Lorenzo Brown type of player. Can't really be disappointed, top16 was expectation, so finishing in top8 was a good result.

Spain is flawed, but also I think they have good balance (they have size and guards) and are well coached. If they meet Greece they just double/triple team Giannis like the did with Markkanen. Spain probably will have harder time to score than they did vs Finland, but we will see.

The ref gave the signal of the ball being over the rim which was clearly wrong. The ball started to go downwards but they would never call that in the NBA. Most of the refs are simply clueless.
