And then the self-righteous victim complex. Completely ignoring the severity and dangers of this global pandemic, thinking that all the medical and policy countermeasures were abusive, like human rights violations.

Speaking as a Nets fan, I'll be thrilled when we finally trade these drama queens for anything reasonable.

Out of that 68% (611 total), he’s actually given full effort in…I don’t know, but it definitely isn’t 100%, and I think few would argue that.

I think it’s going to be sad/scary to see what happens to him once he isn’t good enough to play NBA basketball at an All Star caliber level for just over half the games he’s paid for.

I think he’s going to be shocked by the fact that his platform vanishes once he can’t dribble like Uncle Drew, and that the merits of his superior intellect/perception (above most “pawns”) isn’t enough on its own to keep him in the limelight.

I like Kyrie. When he is on he's fun to watch and the off the court stuff really gets normal people upset in a mostly harmless way. Maybe it's above my head but the politics of it all are incoherent to me and kinda like if Andy Kaufman was anti-vaxx. I'm a fan.

Imagine you have family member that dies of cancer and then you see someone calling cancer fake and spreading a bunch of lies and misinformation. Now imagine that cancer can be spread to others. You still a fan? Nothing about this is harmless and I'll never understand anyone defending people like him.

He stood for what he believed in. You all can hate on him and do have a right for your feelings, but cannot critique him on being wishy washy. He hasn't been vaccinated and doesn't intend to.

I believe that getting an emergency authorized injective medication, without years of clinical research and lab results, coerced upon the employee, is completely wrong.

The vaccine has documented side effects and has effected people. He has every right not to get it.

There isn't anything remotely scientific supporting mandates in young people, and especially children. So while I wouldn't say the science entirely backs Kyrie, it also isn't particularly convincing. Unless you consider something as a vaccine that wanes in 3 to 5 months as about 87 studies have shown now.

Like everything in life, this is a very nuanced thing, and to suggest it's settled science without context doesn't seem wise. The bigger issue for me is we get these Kyrie threads every week, and it's nothing more than a pissing contest, and personal attacks. Yet mods continue to leave them up until it explodes in the thread into full blown name calling.

There also is plenty of studies coming out regarding the damage done by them, as well as the lockdowns, covered by multiple publications including NYT and CNN. This isn’t some conspiracy. This isn’t something you can slip under the rug. Examples:

There was plenty of data supporting mandates in people of all ages. The entire growth curves, R0 and death rate figures of the early variants were the data to support the mandates.

In terms of supporting mandates right now, the need is waning and eventually it will be dropped. Understand that vaccines are protected proactively and not retroactively.
