Nunn's been a little better lately but was about to be exiled to the bench again with Reaves and Walker coming back. I like this, he's not a really a floor spacer but this team's actual biggest flaw is the lack of size on the wing.

Wizards fans how is his perimeter/wing defense? This is what the Lakers need more than anything
He's got the tools, but he's very inconsistent. The hope is that playing for Ham and a team that expects more out of him in a contract will make him focused, but we'll see. Showing that he can be a strong role player on a possible playoff team will get him 15mill/year+ in 3 months. So he should be motivated

He can give you 20-30 one night and 5 the next, at times plays like a star, other times disappears
When he got drafted I thought he'd be an all star after 3 seasons

Another guy who can't shoot or play defense, Pelinkduh strikes again. Worst GM of all time.

This. People are talking about fit, when in reality the Lakers just need ANY wing body

Look at their roster. There are no players that are at least 6'7" who can fill in that wing position. Gabriel is the closest thing to that, but he's really just an energy PF, so this pickup can be very useful.

He hasn't paid Mozgov or Deng $60 million yet.

Re: WOJ BOMB: Hachimura to Lakers
what a head scratcher
the Wizards are probably the worst run organization atm
despite being awful to mediocre, they haven't given Rui a real chance even when he was healthy
he just had a career game the other night...
he's better, cheaper and younger than Kuzma
he hasn't been a good or even average NBA player but playing for real organizations and real coaches might put him on a different path. he def has some tools and some skills
Wizards don't wanna pay him then why didn't they showcase him this season?
Nunn is useless to them long term, 3 2nds? just odd
as for the Lakers, taking on an inexperienced, incosistent and injury prone player who isn't a good outside shooter...
jeez Pelinka
the value is there, Rui is an interseting player to take a flyer on but the Lakers shouldn't be the ones to do it
with that said, Lebron's playmaking and i.q do provide some hope that he will find ways to utilize Rui's talents

He doesn't space the floor or play good defense, the two things they need most.

Bottom line is Hachimura and the Lakers are a better match from a league marketing perspective.
LA is not going to win any ships, may as well get some fans in the door

No he just turned a championship team into a lottery team. While having LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster.

They already have LeBron, they're doing fine marketing wise.

The Mavericks should have been all over this, as a team needing cheap talent upgrades.
Guess they were napping after a big Texan lunch.

lack of size on the wing is usually considered an issue because it correlates with bad defense
The Lakers need bigger guys so they can defend better
Rui ain't gonna help in that department - he's a sieve, so idk if him being 6'8 really makes a difference

Great pick up for the Lakers. I would think he would be worth at least one late FRP. To get him for seconds is very good value.

Kuzma was a valuable role player playing beside Lebron and AD. And i think Rui is better. Its a low risk-mid high reward deal for the Lakers.

And neither does Nunn, on a team with 27 PGs. This is an upgrade for LA, no question about it.
Now could they have gotten a better package? Possibly, but there's no way to know for sure.
