I wonder how Luke Kennard is fitting in.

He's probably chilling on the other side of Memphis, eating BBQ and listening to Country music.

Lol, it's interesting seeing people act like Ja Morant is out of control.

People actually from Memphis are like..."What's the problem...he's acting like the typical 23 year old."

Stop talking and just play.

i envy stars like Jokic-- since the team follows their leader, that's the personality they are assuming-- no talk, all business and delivering the Ws.

Morant's personality is nice and all but at some point he has to mature-- and teammates should follow suit.

You need some stability and someone more likeable. Should trade Ja for Trae. 8-) :o

Ja Morant is dead talented but I would trade him for Dame Lillard no questions asked. He has this persona that just doesn't fit well in the modern NBA for some reason.

We go on long win streaks then go on long loosing ones.

Besides my trade idea that would never happen what needs to fall in line to get respect again.

At our core it seems like we will always be ran like a small market team even when have a window to really compete. Similar to Indiana when they are good.

It's just growing pains. As your team gets better, the expectations grow, and the spotlight gets brighter. Time will tell if maturity and IQ will mesh with athletic prowess.

The window is wide open. It's time to step up.

Grizz do need to make a big move soon; make a big offer for the next star who becomes available.

Towns-JJ would be a hell of a frontcourt.

I don't think Towns is the answer either even though on paper it'd look good.

Realistically an ideal situation would be getting a Pascal Siakam like player who's the ideal #2 that can alleviate a lot of the pressure that Ja faces or even a Mikal Bridges but those 2 won't be going anywhere(maybe Brooklyn deals Bridges if they get an offer they can't refuse as there will be some teams that underachieve in the playoffs and become desperate so who knows).

They do need some maturing and Dillon Brooks may need to go because as much as I like him embracing a villain role at times his BB IQ is infuriating when he thinks he's Kobe and proceeds to shoot the team out of games resulting in him being a double edged sword.

As long as it doesn’t blow up off court, I rekon the roster looks great. Buckle up and enjoy the role of bad boys.

They are becoming unlikeable and going the wrong direction.

Maturity and maybe some vet mentorship will go a long way

is this a troll post, you have a core of 3 young star players good enough to get a top seed in the West and they are literally 23, 24 and 23.

Also Ja's game is going to actually age well. He's has much more finesse and poise than DRose or WB ever had. The little mid range floater he does is actually a graceful shot, he isn't looking to terrorize the rim anymore like his first few years.

I think the situation is more serious with Ja than some of the hand wavers here. At a minimum, the Grizzlies need to sit down with Ja and his agent and explain that his entourage is no longer going to be welcomed around the team or the team facilities. If Ja bucks at that, and his agent can't change his mind, you trade him this summer.

But he's on a contract that will provide him with generational wealth and he's playing gangster as a side hustle. If he plays at it long enough, eventually he's going to come across guys who aren't playing.

There’s a difference though.

Very few people would mess with Jackson and Artest.
Absolutely no one is afraid of Ja and Dillon Brooks.

Man I knew of the police reports that were filed against his crew but I didn't think it was this bad. Your hands are tied if your Memphis because they are a small market team and you don't want to mess things up and off the court knowing that every dollar counts. They've done a great job in finding gems in the later portions of the draft but they got to nip this in the bud immediately.

As for Ja he needs to be careful and look no further than what happened to Michael Vick who wouldn't stop hanging out with his friends from his hometown who were running a dog fighting ring(the details are disgusting and those dogs were either killed via gun shot wounds, drowning, hanging, electrocution) and it resulted in Vick not only being forced to spend time in federal prison but also he had a $100M contract and Nike endorsement go up in smoke and was forced to pay back the Falcons $20M in signing bonus money.

I hope it doesn't get to that point where they have to trade Ja but it'd really sting if it came down to it.

I don’t think they are doomed but there are some serious concerns there. I wouldn’t be against the idea of trading Ja for a lesser but more mature and better fitting star. Memphis would still has plenty of assets after that and might even acquire more. The problem is I don’t know who that star is at the moment.

If by doomed you mean set up to contend for years, while already having their star player (who they'd be crazy to trade, he's awesome and probably the most exciting player in the league)then yes, they are doomed.

Good comparison but Brooks is canadian. I think he will have a lil more respect than walking into the stands and punching fans lol

We have “hard” wanna be thugs with lil to no respect up here in Canada too. Not really sure why, its Canada lol… but we do have them too :)

The Jackson-Artest comparison is pretty spot on imo.
