Somebody’s lying here. Luka saying Booker talked smack to him while Booker saying he was talking to the ref.

On TV, it looked like Booker was talking to the ref.

Yes it looked like he was talking to the ref, then looked like Booker turned his head slightly talking to Luka. That's when Luka stepped up and got in his face.

Book been talking trash for years. Even before Luka was a thing in the NBA. Even before Book himself was anybody in the NBA.

25 Aug 2017
The former MVP and current reigning NBA Champion appeared on The Bill Simmons Podcast on Thursday, where he was asked if he had his eye on any young up-and-coming trash-talkers.

“Devin Booker will talk a little,” Durant said. “I love Devin Booker, man. He love the game and he like a dog. He’ll talk [expletive]. He’ll like rough you up. He’ll get up into you. Better watch out for that boy because he is nice. He next, I’m telling you.”

17 June 2016

Thursday, speaking with Bill Simmons on the B.S. Podcast, Butler praised the Suns' young talent. Asked by Simmons to identify "young players, on the way up, that aren't totally household names yet, but you respect, and they're on your radar," Butler responded:

"I'll tell you one player I do like. Devin Booker. I like that kid. He's young, he can really shoot it. He can get to the rim. He can play."

Not sure if that's worth anything. Booker's had the better team pretty much the entire time AND he got knocked out in the only series of games that actually mattered (including one particular game that was historically bad for his team).

And Booker’s still gone further in the playoffs than Luka has ever gone. One playoff series, and one albeit historic game 7 loss by 60 pts, doesn’t change that.

No Jalen Brunson this season and Mavs didn’t look like much of a contender or even playoff team until Kyrie got there. They really haven’t had the level of injuries the Suns have had this season either.

A 6th seed added Kyrie and you're talking about the rivalry becoming lopsided. Many people don't even think they are contenders after the trade and you think it compares to an already contender adding KD.

Yes the 6th seed adding Kyrie Irving makes them better than the 5th seed pre-KD Suns. How is that hard to understand?
I mean, PHX was clearly playing below their level, especially with Booker being out. No version of this Mavs team this year was better than the PHX team PRE Durant when healthy. Lets stop the lying.

I mean... it's a team game? Luka went H2H with him and beat him with an inferior team. Booker making the finals has nothing to do with the conversation when the conversation on which team has the better roster the last few years shouldn't be a question. Dallas beating PHX is embarrassing not just bc of Game 7, but the fact that PHX just had a way better team.

Honetly, after making the finalis the year prior and the. that disastrous failure last year, Booker shouldn’t be saying anything until they’ve won a major playoff series (which in his case isn’t until a conference championship). A regular season win is just a nice consolation that is another step to the ultimate goal

Who is talking when they’re down 46? Like ever? They’re just going to point at the scoreboard. Practically that makes no sense. Furthermore, what makes booker unlikeable? He plays pretty hard, he’s not a dirty player, not a serious flopper. Talks trash, doesn’t load manage. Is being humble a requirement to like someone?

We could always refresh, what’s the record in their new respective rosters? So far it’s 1-0 Suns. There’s some obstacles for the Mavs to worry about in the playoffs:

What’s the Mavs record against the Clippers, Warriors or the Nuggets since Luka got drafted by Dallas? Spoiler alert, it’s not the best.

1-0 in a close game is a completely insignificant sample size. A close regular season win against a team that embarrassed you is worthless in the s**t talking spectrum. For Booker, this should be a shrug, let’s win the next game and avenge last years loss when it matters.

What seed were the Suns when they added KD?

And if you think the Suns were a contender before Durant, you dont actually watch basketball.

It’s vastly different teams now, last year’s playoffs doesn’t matter with new players. Guys like Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie who went off for the Mavs in games 5-7 aren’t there anymore. Two of the three leading scorers for the Suns from today’s game weren’t even on the Suns roster last season.

Mavs added Kyrie Irving, Suns added Kevin Durant, two pretty big additions that makes both teams vastly different than how they looked in the playoffs last season.

Nope just saying a player of Booker’s caliber who has been in the finals the year before and then embarrassed the following year should be in the mentality that that the only time to really ralk sh** is when the mission is accomplished. A regular
Season OT win after getting KD should not
Even register as important when compared to the ultimate goal

Probably a lot of Lakers fans are salty that the Suns knocked the heavily favored Lakers in the 2021 playoffs.

Lol the Lakers were the 7 seed, LeBron was playing at about 60%, and they were still up 2-1 before AD got hurt. And that has nothing to do with Booker being a smug prick.
