I have always thought Lebron was overrated and have not been a fan, but everything he did the league was who allowed it. They have put short term money over integrity of the game and that is on the comish and owners.

While people can debate how much of a hand he had into it, he basically pulled a move you almost never saw before him a player in his prime going to a team with 2 other all-stars to form a super team.

That likely changed the opinion of other players in the NBA on what was acceptable. Before that move these super teams were mostly formed as players hit their later years, not a 26 year old player entering his prime doing this type of thing. Even Wikipedia claims it was the first "player created" super team.

Please elucidate? What is the integrity of the Game? In your own words define integrity of the game

chuck_wagon44 wrote:You can make the case that LeBron is the reason why the NBA went to crap during his era.

From player empowerment, to constantly holding a team hostage and making them compromise their assets for his own happiness, getting fans kicked out of games, always making everything about himself, constantly bringing in politics with the NBA, speaking out on things that are none of his business and without facts (reference: China comments) and just his overall condescending presence with how the league now treats star players with load management and players calling shots.

The NBA needs more Giannis types and less LeBron types. What say yawl?

Surprise you didn’t mention climate change, AIDS, cancer, identity theft, etc.

LeBron bad. I don’t like him. Integrity. Bad.

Pennebaker wrote:A lot of people aren't going to watch when he retires. He's the reason they watch. Just like with MJ.

People love to watch if they can root for someone or if they can root against someone — LeBron once he retires is going to take both of these types of fans with him. Is there anyone else in the NBA who can engender a 20 page thread about taco Tuesday? I don’t think so.

Exhibit A: The Taco Tuesday Thread

https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=1886457

I hope he dies buried in money. Greedy bastard.

Maybe I'm weird but I find these clips to be among the corniest things I have ever seen in sports. His dumb expressions and high pitched voice.

What a greedy arrogant prick he’s turned into. You’ve got be kidding me with this ****.

...I hope they squeeze a couple million out of LeBron - that would be hilarious if it backfired on him.

I don't know why this pisses me off either but it just does...

This is just truly ridiculous to me. He doesn't even sell tacos, he just eats them. He won't be granted this trademark, but if he did get it taco lovers and the restaurant industry would run him out of town.

Is this just rude and greedy? New low.

So cringe.

**** you LeBron

What a sorry state of greed and narcissism on display daily from people with a podium... Sick

Or is it just truly classless act? Not about trademark gtfo.

Bitch moves on AND off the court!

It's a scummy thing to try to take control of something that he didn't invent.

****, he is obnoxious.

cringeworthy, petty, corny, and overly greedy.

What an egomaniac this guy is.

Yeah, it's really embarrassing for a 35 year old man to act like that.

This is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen. Cements his in history as a ridiculous blowhard that could never live up to his own hype.

But this is pretty damn shameful. LeBron is really acting like he invented the phrase that's been around forever.

Just so greedy and unlikeable.

LeBron can **** off.

Lebron was masking the league's problems. Right now teams/players are learning to game the system to the expense of the fans with load management, tanking, fishing for fouls, and just bizzare behavior (e.g. Morant) and Silver is running out of answers.

Lebron was one of the few you could count on to try and play every game, even when he wasn't 100%.

And?

Again no one had ever done that before, a bunch of guys past 30 forming a super team sure. A bunch of guys in their 20's doing it before LBJ nope.

I never said he can't do it but he shaped what the NBA is like in the year 2023. If he never does this there is a chance KD doesn't do the same thing with the Warriors, or we never see KD and Kyrie team up on the Nets. Again this ridiculous notion that I claim he can't do what he did is dumb as heck, this is like I claim it's bad that one guy did something that I deem not so great and your like "It's a free country!"

Lebron only cares about himself. What’s funny is the people defending him when he is actively exploiting them. Sad, really

I don't think NBA will be a better place without him, if everyone can just ignore all the non-irrelevant stuff LeBron is promoting. No hate, just ignore him.

And that self promoting disrespectful tweet that he just posted today about his kid while blasting current nba players is real professional, especially for a guy who is almost 40 years old is pretty great isnt it?

You've accumulated 600 posts here within 3 months of being here, and over half of them are about LeBron (who you clearly hate). You either are doing a Skip Bayless-esque schtick, or you are an adult with a weirdly negative obsession with an NBA player. There's no reason to take what you write seriously when the topic is LeBron James.
