That got thrown out the window when they announced Kidd would be retained. JVG is just going to be a crybaby has-been that has no feel for the game in the modern era. Apparently Disney is going to have to start reporting ESPN as its own segment in quarterly/annual financials statements. Working in SEC reporting for a public company, that gets triggered when revenue of the segment is big enough. No one ever wants to do segment reporting, it's such a pain in the ass.

From an investor standpoint now ESPN-specific financials will be available and investors can analyze. Guess is ESPN has crazy high expenses for on-air talent and now will need to answer for it so they're trying to manage it.
