They'll be even worse after the locker room implodes after learning that Udoka had been porking some of the team's execs and player's wives. Dillon Brooks will drive 90 miles to his house Matt Barnes style to punch Derek Fish... I mean Ime Udoka

If Sengun, Green and Jabari take a step forward in their production, along with Eason, with a real coach in Udoka, they can definitely win games now that they have FVV, Brooks and Landale. I expect them to have splits. Good home record, poor road record. The season to watch for them is 2024-25.

As much as people bag on the Rockets, those young four are valuable. Eason, Jabari and Sengun could be a frontline that wins a title one day.

I'm interested to see what Udoka can do with them. I want to find out if he's a really incredible coach or if Boston's talent could just win with anybody.

On paper the Rockets look like a 35 win team if everyone plays to expectations.

That would be the Raptors.
$150 M in salaries 2023. Lottery team.
$160 M in salaries 2024. Still a lottery team likely because they got worse.
Weird because I heard that every single player on that team was worth 47 first round picks.

They are going to be by far the worst defensive team in the league. Maybe the strategy will be to outscore people. Silas is arguably the worst coach in nba history so agreed Ime will be good for 5 wins maybe. I’ll predict <30 wins for sure

I think the Rockets are in the 30-win range and probably the bottom 3 of the Western Conference along with San Antonio and Portland when they inevitably blow up. The key for Houston is the emergence of their young talent -- Green, Smith, Thompson, Whitmore -- rather than how many wins FVV and Dillon Brooks can add. If Ime can get them playing hard on defense, that will help add some wins.

It's not clear right now how these pieces fit together and if they have a coherent play style.

FVV is not a mentor. He played tbe most selfish bball that would get himself paid. And it worked, at tbe teams expense.

Fred will see these guys as competition for his spot. And now they all saw being selfish gets you paid. Good luck getting him to stop.

Hopefully enough to land the Thunder a pick between 6 and 10

They will be tanking again at the deadline or sooner.

2024 first round draft pick to Oklahoma City
Houston's 2024 1st round pick to Oklahoma City protected for selections 1-4; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Houston will instead convey its 2024 2nd round pick and 2025 2nd round pick to Oklahoma City [Houston-Oklahoma City, 7/16/2019]

My opinion is that there's a few really good players that are still learning to play and I really like their two centers, but they have the biggest collection of me first players on one roster, Oubre would fit in perfectly.. Hopefully Thompson, and Dillion Brooks defense can help, but if you like watching guys dribble into pull up jumpers or drive into their own shots repeatedly this is the team for you.

I can't see them winning more than 35, and I feel like over achieving at this stage of development may be not so good for them, they are probably fine with 30-35 wins

Nah homie, we gave out those contracts while we were still a playoff team. We were 20th in salary last season.

Being a Rockets fan, you must have forgotten what it feels like to have players that worth something on your team. Don't worry though, I'm sure Freddy will give you that feeling back again.

They feel like the team that does inexplicably well to start the season and then levels off to an around 35 win team

Defense should be improved but if FVV, Brooks and Green are the top 3 offensive options, it figures to be a very inefficient offense. Maybe 30ish wins

The West is so load going to be extremely tough even with the additions on the roster and coaching staff to make a big leap. They won 22 games last year so I'll go with 30 or 32 games max.I think 10 win increase should be the realistic expectation.

In a potentially healthier Western conference? 30 + wins would honestly be impressive

I can’t see this team winning 30 games and considering the protections in their pick and the likelihood of keeping it if they tank?

I hope that Fred and Ime are ready to suck for a couple of years still.

FVV was the closer of the Raptors when they won the championship in 2018-19, just 4 years ago. And he was so good that he even got a vote for Finals MVP over Kawhi.
