Then why don’t you just say franchise like a normal person?

I don't want to be the one to explain "rizz" to you.

Isn't that just slang for charisma?

Looks like "Chise" is not taking off no matter how much you promote it. You should try "Franch" next time. :D

Steph wins this because he's a more likeable teammate to build around. Skill wise it's a wash. Steph slightly greater offensively, but Kobe dwarfs him on defense (even on days Kobe didn't try, which was surprisingly a lot).

Kobe was just an **** though. If you didn't have that competitive fire he had, you'd hate him..

Curry easily, and I love Kobe.

Everything I saw Kobe do, Curry took it to another level. If Kobe was a cheat code, Curry broke the game.

I'll say that again, in case someone wants to report this post. The man was accused of rape, and as part of the charges being dropped the victim forced him to issue an apology in which he recognised that in hindsight he understood she had not consented. That's not something to be swept under the rug or trivialised.

Bro...you raped me last week. You too are now an accused rapist and that shouldn't be swept under the rug. Then, when the accusations alone cost you 10s of millions in potential income and you apologize to put it to bed...we can forever hold it over your head as if you had been tried and convicted. The criminal charges were dropped...period. The victim admitted to several lies to the police and showed up to the exam with someone else's DNA/pubes in her panties. You ever heard of a true rape victim OK'ing an apology vs jail time for their "attacker"? A singular accusation is just that and shouldn't be used to put smut on a dead man's name.

I don't find the humour in making light of rape. Sorry.

Nobody who has a strong claim to innocence has to ageee to release a statement where he admits that he understands she didn't consent.

You shouldn't find humor in rape. Neither do I.

Your statement about a claim to innocence just isn't true. Under that same logic, you could say no true rape victim would sue in a civil case and not pursue a criminal conviction against the accused.

Kobe was under immense pressure by the league, his team, the brands he represented, his family, etc. to put this story to bed and resume his career. He's not any random citizen. His adultery was broadcast internationally and he had his personal indiscretions discussed worldwide. Neither of us knows what that feels like. Rape is a serious conversation and probably shouldn't be thrown out there randomly without full context of the charge. We didn't need this on the board.

Kobe probably. Not only was he better from an earlier edge, I think Kobe would probably be the guy who I'd want to lead by example as far as work ethic. Curry for as great as he was had other people on his team who helped him push things forward personality wise. That Kerr/Curry/Thompson/Dray combo were all clicked in together so as a collective they could lead whoever else was on the team. If you run a simulation lets say 1000 times, I don't know how many times Curry gets a core around him to help him pull the locker-room together and have them mentally ready to play. Kobe, for as toxic as he may have been at times, could probably help instill a certain drive and culture throughout the team even with some more abrasive personalities.

It's close though, and anyone who says "and it's not even close" in this thread should be suspended.

What “Kobe” felt like?!?! In Kobe’s statement, even he talked about what his victim had to endure.

First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colorado.

I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, Irecognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.

Years later, we have a fan worrying about how Kobe felt. Even more than being raped, he doesn’t acknowledge the death threats and labeling the victim received, and that her name and address was leaked to the public. He still labels the crime “adultery,” when even Kobe says the event was not consensual. There is the accusation she’s trying to get rich, when Kobe says he doesn’t question her motives.

I try to give Kobe fans a pass, because they talk about Kobe-the-player. But your rapist-defense post is just over the top. No amount of pressure from sponsors is going to make any innocent man publicly say he forced a woman into non-consensual sex. This is you grasping at a preposterous excuse because you simply refuse to accept what happened. Don’t make excuses for the rapists you like, just because they are good at basketball.

“Wow” is the right response.

Have to take Curry if it's starting now (or presumably nest season?) If it's say '96, probably would take Kobe especially if you are stuck with an unimaginative coach.
