Mobley might be the better defender for now but Chet is already miles ahead offensively and there is no indication Mobley will be or ever had the offensive skillset to be much better than he is now while Chet still has plenty to grow. This isnt close Chet has white Ad potential Mobley best case scenario if everything works right is Bam lol

Mobley averaged 15.7ppg (fourth highest scorer) and Chet averaged 16.5ppg (third highest scorer).

That doesnt factor in the enormous spacing impact Chet has a 37% shooting 7'1 center while Mobley is a paint clogger w/ no spacing impact

Okc also run most inverted pick and rolls by far and its possible because of Chets incredible ballhandling and playmaking for his size. Neither Mobley has he doesnt even have reliable handles for them to run anything through him

Even with all of that, their numbers don't look much different. Chet is more versatile, but that doesn't mean he's a better offensive player than Sabonis. My entire point is that we'll see how things evolve over the next five years.

Yep. He's a better rookie than Mobley and Mobley hasn't really developed a lot since his rookie year.

Mobley was vastly overrated as a prospect. Can't shoot and can't defend in space. Plus, he's an undersized center. He's basically a 4/5 but really a traditional PF which in case people haven't been paying attention, doesn't really work in today's NBA like it used to. Still valuable. Just not the franchise player people claimed before he was drafted. Chet is the new version of a 4/5 and the better prospect and player by far.

Yeah, Chet is running away with this hard. Sorry guys, maybe not the hardest questioned I ever asked here... I did expect most would vote in Chets favor, but I didnt know it would be pretty much unanimous. This didn't spark much debate.

I blame it on our terrible coaching staff.

Its probably why JB is gone, regardless if we sneak out of the first round because we will get swept by Boston. Mobley has no strength and plays scared. Really sad that we screwed him up

He was my favorite prospect pre-draft, so his lack of development has been jarring. The defense was as advertised, but his offense is lacking in so many areas. I'm still a fan, But I've just adjusted my expectations accordingly.

I didn't expect a vote this lopsided. Mobley's upside is predicated on developing a shot. Lots of bigs can take time there. I'm not sure he won't get there.

Chet just happens to be a guard with elite defensive timing who grew to be 7 feet.

Even if the defense was a wash, Chet is miles ahead offensively.

chet also enables some guard-guard pnr plays because of the pressure he puts by cutting from the corner, which is probably even more impactful than his ball handling

his feel of offensive motion and spatial awareness is probably already elite for a big man.
