That's the worst bench in the NBA currently. Atleast as far as any team who has real aspirations anyways...

Is the deal a 1 and 1 PO. As a billionaire he more than any player can sacrifice for a championship but he has not been able to recruit another

you think Lebron is the one holding back a wonderful owner like Jeanie and mastermind like Rob?

Nah, without Lebron the Lakers are just a sorry franchise with bad ownership and a bad front office destined to do nothing. Lebron not being on the team doesn’t change that.

I thought he said he was going to take a pay cut to improve the roster...

He's been playing for money and stats since three years.

He doesn't care about winning anymore.

Yes

Literally that's when Pat Riley lost him as well. The owner had perviously been cheap to save luxury tax on Mike Miller and some other players, but after the loss to the Spurs in 2014 Pat Riley's plan was for LeBron to take a bit less in FA so they could go get another player to add to the team and LeBron jumped out of there ASAP to head back to Cleveland.

4th seed in the West Easy this season

Haters are so funny

4th pick in the draft is more plausible. And the Pelicans own that pick.

1+1 is a smart move by LBJ.
He is now set to be FA the year of Bryce in NBA. Maybe even Bronny colud be a FA in two years.

Lakers have a better chance of making a deep playoff run than the Suns do.

LeBron bet Rob Pelinka $20M in salary and the full MLE that he couldn't do his job and won the bet.

In fairness what premium FA's were they going to get in this market for the taxpayer MLE? I think Lebron was willing to take the pay cut for Klay and that's about it. He wasn't giving back money to sign the likes of Gary Trent Jr. It was a pretty safe bet by Lebron and made him look good for a few days before inevitably taking the max.

I think he jumped to Cleveland because he saw the writing on the wall with Wade aging and showing noticeable signs of decline. By 2014 Wade was still an all-star caliber player but he was no longer the top 5 superstar MVP caliber player he was between 2006-2012. Lebron at the time was suffering from some legacy damage by forming a super team.

Cleveland had an up and coming 22 year old all-star in Kyrie Irving and the very valuable 1st overall pick in the Wiggins sweepstakes who people thought would be a sure fire superstar. Lebron decided to join Cleveland on the condition that they trade Wiggins who was promptly used to acquire one of the best big men in the game at the time in Kevin Love, someone who Lebron had wanted to play with since the 2012 Olympics.

This was both a good PR/legacy move for Lebron because could argue he was repairing his damaged legacy, but at the same time he was able to form another super team with Kyrie and Love.

At the time he did not anticipate that a very young team from Golden State, with an undersized sharpshooter in Curry (who nobody suspected would be an all-time great), would revolutionize the game and be a thorn to his side for the next half decade.

It was $20M and the full MLE.

There were also reports that LeBron would agree to take a pay cut to bring in DeMar DeRozan, Jonas Valančiūnas, Lauri Markkanen, and several others. However, let's not judge Rob Pelinka solely based on this offseason - he hasn't executed a single trade or landed a free agent for several years.

Don't like this at all.

Just a 1 year deal + 1 year player option?

I wanted him on a 4 year max contract.

GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

That pick is now Atlanta's as part of the Dejounte Murray trade
